Modifying existing mods

Hi,

Just wanted to know if there's any problem with modifying existing mods for your own use. I know there's the whole point that if I don't tell anyone who'll know but still it's taking someone's work and changing it. I love Slof's playable xivilai and also the Chingari demon race so I combined both races and made a demon-xivilai. I'm had no intentions on releasing it of course but I just wanted something unique. That's basically all I wanted to know was if doing stuff like that was an acceptable thing or not. I've started doing a little mod work myself and I know how much time goes into doing stuff.

Thanks

Doug

Sure, why not? As long as it's not released, then it's perfectly fine. If you release it, then you need to get permission from the arthur if it's not already given in the readme. I know I customize and change stuff in mods all the time. I've taken Luchaire's Wilding Race and changed it to the point of it not being recognized for the sole purpose of creating a very unique character for my personal use. Other people do this all the time as well...

EDIT: shadowace beat me to the answer.

I'm not an expert Legal-Eagle or anything, but as long as you don't share it with anyone or make it available to the public at all, you should be fine.
