sanokser
Hey guys , so yeah just my second post but hopefully things will change... Anyways i played Skyrim for about 60 hours until now , and it was amazing - I didn't care about any of the flaws it had until now... I've got both my enchanting and smithing to the max , and oh guess what? Yeah well now me and Lydia running around in dragon sets around basically destroying most of the stuff in 1-4 hits with my bows without even sneaking . So yeah I've figured out hell there are tons of mods , I'll just adjust it to my level by installing few mods and they are - double master difficulty , skyrim wars , enchanted skyrim . The only thing it changed was adding the power to actually one hit me by almost any mage or giant out there , but they still go down as easy as they were before =/ not to mention the complete loss of interest to loot anything as I'm well aware that any stuff dropped won't come close to my self crafted gear.. So just asking for advice since i pretty much lost any interest in continuing the game anymore , I'm pretty lazy to restart as i lack the time for that .Is there anyone with similar situation as I out there?(pretty sure there are tons of you guys) But still what was that you've done to keep playing after getting the max gear? babis8142
Same thing happened to me; I just stopped using dragon armor and daedric weapons and I use something like orcish weapons and armor because I'm an orc lol. So now the game is something more challenging but I didn't install mods that increase the difficulty like you
chanchan05
Set Wars in Skyrim to Dark Age and Deadly Dragons to Hardcore?
TaranTatsuuchi
Also, you could try using the console command to 'level up' your character, the one that doesn't award perks or increase any of your skills, you won't get any more powerful but the enemies will be spawned at the higher level. There's not much you can do after that. The game just wasn't designed for one playthrough beyond that many hours. It was designed for one long playthrough (but not that long) and then more so for "replay" value, starting anew with new builds and different quests and factions and such. Krawll
I lost interest in the game after 3 playthroughs. Even after installing the wars in skyrim mod and the Mother of tears mod, i still didn't regain interest . But 2 days ago i installed the Deadly Dragons mod at Hard Difficulty , then i deleted all my saved games and started a new one. I also removed Wars in Skyrim because it doesn't necessarily make the game harder. It just gives you more stuff to kill and i it basicly increases the loot too much. Monsters and bandits are just dropping too much of the good stuff with the WIS mod. I also removed the Mother of Tears mod because thats an End Game mod but i'll reinstall it once i'm high lvl enough . Deadly Dragons mod also adds an option to make all other creatures more powerful except for bandits and wolves so it does make the game a lot harder. Beleive it or not i got killed by Mudcrabs lol. Even at low lvl i had never been killed by a mudcrab before. But seriously , the thing that made the game so much more amazing is the Dragons battle. I'm still amased at the battle i had against Mirmulnir , the first dragon you get to fight near the Western Watchtower of Whiterun. Normaly that fight only lasts about 2 minutes and if you want to , you don't even have to fight, you can simply lay low inside the tower and let the NPCs do all the job and when he's dead you just come out and collect the soul. But with the Deadly Dragons mod, the fight lasted over 20 minutes and i emptied a quiver of 150+ arrows on him plus almost emptied my other quiver which had over 70 + arrows in it. And the dragon killed pretty much all the NPCs during the fight too. And i first tried to fight him at lvl 5 and failed at every attempts. So i had to reload an earlier save and get a few more lvls before attempting to kill him again. I managed to kill him at lvl 8 but i still had to work realy hard for my win. So just that realy boosted my desire to play the game at least one more playthrough and maybe even enjoy the end game. Another mod you can get is : ( totaly_Epic_music_dragons_battle ) I'm not 100% sure of how the mod is called but thats the exact name of the .rar file that i have on my computer. It changes the music during dragon battles with some even more epic songs than the vanilla one. And one last thing is , i did the same thing you did during my last playthrough, i had enchanting and Smithing at 100 and i was walking around in full Daidric set and killing everything very easily. This time i'm gonna try and use Branded Iron Armor untill i can craft Ancient Nord armor and then i'm gonna keep Ancient nord armor no matter what. I beleive it's a bit weaker than Daidric and Dragon bones but it looks just as awesome. Seriously bro , Deadly Dragons mod is THE MOD. I definatly voted for that mod for File of the month and i can't wait to see what this guy comes up with once the CK comes out.
chanchan05
You have Deadly Dragons on Hard and in Master difficulty? Cool! I am actually thinking going to do that. It seems that Dragon damage did not increase with DD normal. Although I am not sure if its a death wish for my character. Since he's an unarmored mage its very diffiult to survive against dragons as of the moment.
gamenode
I stopped using armor altogether. My last two characters used a bow as their only weapon. The first one also specialized in Illusion magic but then I realized with a mod I could get some decent illusion magic as a vampire and save all those perk points for something else. So now I'm playing my firs Dark Elf (never played cuz they're ugly) and he wears only clothing. He uses only a Longbow (best bow in Skyrim in my opinion) and when I get to the Grey Beards I'll level up my sneak and put a couple perks to get to the triple bow damage perk and then stop. Not using armor means I don't need to spend any perks in Smithing. Because Longbow can have insane damage and rapid firing rate I consider it the most upgradeable and accessible bow in the game. I'll be using it when I'm level 50 (and have on other builds). Plus it's dirt cheap. Because I'll never put a point in any of the melee skills, or armor, or shield I can now invest in other long ignored skills like pickpocket and maybe even lockpicking. I find this more fun as a sneaky build because I am making the most of sneak and game mechanics to build a powerful character on a shoestring perk budget. For instance Muffle reduces the sound of armor as you move, but I'm not wearing armor so I don't need that perk. I also only use a bow so I don't need any of the backstab perks. In fact, the right side of sneak up until Deadly Aim is as far as I go. I plow the rest of the points in things like speechcraft or pickpocketing or alchemy or whatever. And since I will only use a Longbow I don't need to put points in Smithing. Many people will put 5 or 6 points in Smithing perks to get to Daedric weapons but the damage per second on a Daedric bow is only about 15 dps. The longbow does about 10. However if I put the 5 points it takes to get to Daedric weapons and plow them into Archery damage my Longbow will do about 22 dps. That's just slightly less than Karliah's bow (which also requires 5 perk points. 4 for Ebony weapons and 1 for Archane Blacksmith). So anyway, to make a long story short, I'm using my knowledge of the game to try to make very powerful characters by specializing in key skills. Essentially making a very efficient and very deadly build. The result is that on Master Level Difficulty I'm able to field highly viable characters even at very low levels. Instead of spreading skills around I'm focusing on a few very important skills and it's made me very powerful in the early game which is a time many people struggle at the highest difficulty settings. After that maybe I'll make an unarmed combat character that uses a shield. Punch bash punch bash, loot. Rince, repeat. Scribblesix
I feel that level progression in Skyrim is a bit off if you play about at the beginning of the game and level up a lot of skills particularly non crafting ones at once you shoot up in level but your combat effectiveness does not, but once any skill gets near 70 the game becomes easy if you have complimentary skills in that range (say smithing and a fighting one) it's a walkover. I had a similar problem to you though I never even bothered to use any weapon better than ebony, To make the game more interesting I equip my heavy armour perked Nord in unenchanted fur and only use skyforged steel of less weaponry combat isn't difficult but no longer ridiculously easy. It's another thread I know but regarding balance, I feel that enchanted bonuses shouldn't stack or at best have a log drop off in efficiency, so four items with elemental reduction at 40%, the first is 40, the second 20, the third 10 and the fourth 5 ect. Smithing balance is also completely borked. item quality introduced at creation (smiths don't sell enchanted gear but rather items of varying quality (epic orc greatswords and the like) then degenerates with use requiring the need for workstations to repair them
HideInLight
What master difficulty does is make you do 50% damage and enemies do 200% Basically the game has been balanced in master around abusing the crap out smithing/enchanting and stacking resistance. I've restarted with a new character on Adept(1:1) with this mod called ABSE on adept and ignored smithing/echanting completely. Went sneak/destruction, am lvl25 now. Game gets pretty challenging now since enemies are pretty much almost as powerful as you, not to mention boss npcs. NPCs don't carry around legendary weapons and armor...Learned a bit of modding recently and I'm gonna try balance the game a tiny bit around adept difficulty(the way the game was meant to be played).
