Dammal19
Hello everyone, I'm not very happy with my mods anymore, so I want to delete them all  (especially at tuesday in case there's really a high-res-pack coming, I'd give that a try) Unfortunate I'm a jerk and haven't made a backup before modding a lot. How can I come back to a "clean" Vanilla-Skyrim?? I wouldn't mind loosing my save-files when it's necessary. Can this be done by completly deleting the skyrim folder, deinstalling and installing skyrim again?? I appreciate any help :turned:
MShoap13
Reinstalling is the hard way... In the \Skyrim\Data\ directory, delete any plugins you've added, the \textures\ folder, the \meshes\ folder, and any traces of any other mods you may have installed (the \sounds\ folder maybe). Removing plugins may or may not break your saves, and it's advised to remove any standalone items from your character, stash, followers, or any other persistent container of any type via the console before deactivating and deleting the plugins for said stand alone items. You may also want to backup your current config files (Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini) located at \My Documents\My Games\Skyrim\ and then delete them as well so the game will create fresh ones. NMM may or may not like you manually deleting mods so you may have to reinstall it but that takes all of about two minutes so...
Dammal19
Thx for the reply  Well, I guess I'll go the hard way, because there are so many files to be deleted and I've no idea if they belong to a mod or to the game :pinch: But when I mod again, I'll first make a backup and also backup the files of the mods I'm installing
MShoap13
It's definitely wise to keep the archives of your mods around.
