EDIT: Also, this is...a teaser of a teaser I'm currently working on haha. Bonus points if anyone can guess where the music is from. luddemann
Just what I was looking for. Cant wait till this is finished! I really want them do be less like bandits and more inquisitor-like. How about this for armor? http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/554575-wipnew-custom-armor/ Contact the author and see if he is interested. If you need someone to re texture it I will gladly do it. Does the silver hand have a symbol? If not then you should make it. How about something like this: http://fc07.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2009/349/7/b/Raising_Fist_by_Berserk1988.jpg And one more thing, please dont make them more bandity by giving them a cave as headquarters, a proper house would be more suitable :) Edited March 30, 2012 by luddemann
luddemann
How about this: (not sure how far along the proses you have got so it might be too late) The companions are an ancient faction. Long ago it split up due to some of the member becoming werewolves. The part that didnt want this left the companions and started their own group, the silver hands. But they could never leave their past behind. Their hatred grew along with the will to take back Jorrvaskr and the glories of the companions. With the aid of the dragonborn, they can bring down the werewolves and retake Jorrvaskr. This explains their hatred against the werewolves and vampires and such, plus its nice to be able to still use Jorrvaskr and the Ysgramor items. I think it would be cool that just before you enter the cave to take the ritual (where you become a werewolf) one cloaked silver hand approaches you and tells you that there is another way. He explains the whole story and you can chose to follow him instead of joining the ritual or you can ofcourse kill him and join the ritual instead. What do you think? OhSorryOldHorse
We are looking for a special Silver type of armor, which so far we've come up short on. While I like that guy's Crusader armor, it's not exactly the look we're going for these guys to have. We're using vanilla armors for now, and if an actual silver type armor comes along on the Nexus, then we'll try and get permission to use it. As for your idea on how the story will be...I've had this mapped out since before the CK come out, with how much exposition each of the characters is going to get, and credible reasons for each of the characters' motivations for being part of the Silver Hand. Trust me, I've been writing short stories and lyrics for years, so I'm pretty sure folks will enjoy what we have in store. :P

Is it one week or one year? Plus, If i have joined the companions, will i be able to join? What if I did the ritual? btw, will you make them really evil or kinda go for the more paladin style? OhSorryOldHorse
So Ive started a new save were I really wanna join the silver hand. Do you have any idea when its coming out? Is it one week or one year? Plus, If i have joined the companions, will i be able to join? What if I did the ritual? btw, will you make them really evil or kinda go for the more paladin style? The big thing we're going to have issues with is the scripting. What we plan to do is rather ambitious, in the sense that we will need to alter some aspects of the Companion questline without breaking it. All of our characters are created, and we're still building locations. That much we can easily do. However, me and my friend do have lives and so we're working on this as much as possible. Therefore, I can't give an approximate date because that would just be setting expectations high and I don't want to have to crush any such thing lol. Me and my friend know each other in real life, but it may be necessary to reach out to an experienced scripter to get done what we need done. Right now, we're focused on telling a story. This means that once you join the Silver Hand, you can't join the Companions and vice versa. This is what will be in our initial release, however, if reception is good for the mod, we will go back in and implement more branching choices (though it may be hard because to conceivably do that, one would need to write new lines for vanilla characters, and thats kind of hard without the voice actors :P). As for where they fit on the moral compass...square in the middle. If you've ever seen the show LOST, one of the themes of that show is that nobody is a bad person because each individual believes what they are doing is right, and thus everyone believes they are a good person in their own way. That's where I, the writer of the dialogue and quests, hopes to go with this.
