GhostofPOOP Posted April 10, 2017 Share Posted April 10, 2017 I don't want to bore you with details, but the jist of it is Fallout 4 is giving me the run around trying to get more Institute Refugees as settlers. From refusing to give me the appropriate quests, to actually glitching a scientist out of existence, it's become an impossible hassle. Can someone help me beat this game into submission and cheat some Institute Scientists in somehow? My dream is at least one institute scientist per settlement. (There used to be a mod where you could rename settlers, which would work fine. I can just rename some settlers as Institute Scientists and re-dress them. But I believe that mod is gone because it was causing serious issues? Any advice on that would be great.) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

What "appropriate quest" is being referred to here? (I realize the OP is over a year old :tongue: ) I imagine you could spawn an Institute scientist into a settlement with console commands, but that NPC wouldn't have settler AI so wouldn't be assignable, tradeable, count as a settler, have any appropriate dialogue and might just wander off or not move at all. Without a renaming mod, I think re-dressing a normal settler in institute clothing, and letting your imagination do the rest, is the best that could be done. ImmortalAbsol Posted April 15, 2019 Share Posted April 15, 2019 (edited) Search the FO wiki for "Resettle Refugees" a Minuteman quest, it's very difficult to trigger.You need to have activated the evacuation protocol when leaving the institute for the last time.And then they only ask you if they can live in specific settlements and only if you haven't discovered it.It's a unique variant of "clearing the way",another Minuteman quest.I'm currently looking for a mod the forces it to trigger for discovered settlements (I build a lot) or one that cuts all of that out, and adds them to the random encounter pool.
