esiotrot291117
To anyone out there, When I save a texture on Photoshop everything seems to be going fine. However, when I re-open the texture I find that only half of it is being displayed (even though the only thing I did was sharpen the texture)! In addition, I repeatedly get the message: "Alpha information will be lost". Please, anybody, HELP! EDIT: Resolved. I did the stupid mistake of leaving "Use Existing Mipmaps" when I hadn't loaded them in the first place! ooofbaer
This is a simple fix. When you save your .dds, choose to save it as DXT5. You're currently saving it as a DXT1 .dds.The DXT3 and DXT5 formats contain alpha channels, which is where other information for the texture is stored. The DXT1 file has no alpha channel. By saving your .dds as DXT1, you're deleting the alpha channel. :) Edited February 5, 2012 by ooofbaer
