kppk34
I'm using an enb for the first time and finally have everything set up alright, except my fps is awfully low. During the opening scene in the carriage my fps was at least 42+. Then when entering the town my fps began to drop and fluctuate from 24 to 16, sometimes hitting the low thirties. During the execution I was at 10-15fps, it was in the high teens until I got into the dungeon where our bindings get cut off (save for the part where your screen blurs a bit after getting up, then it was 42-30). Inside my fps kept fluctuating between 35 and 15. I stayed in the main area before looking in the chest walking around looking straight ahead while this happened. When i opened the chest the fps kept in the low 10's, then after finding the first enemies the fps stays at 10. I don't think my laptop is that bad where the fps has to hit 10 here (every other game is run on near max or ultra settings with little issues) I'm really fixated on this cause I used to run a ton of mods with little issue without the enb (I'm testing the enb with a few mods not everything). Do I have to ditch the whole prospect of having an enb? Is there an enb that isnt so taxing? I've also uploaded my esp list. Toseproeski
Have you tried using ForceBorderless=trueForceBorderleesFullscreen=true This smoothed the game for me and it made it look better (this might not be the case with you)
Algabar
At OP: Your rig should be capable of running an ENB - maybe not the most demanding one on highest settings though. I didn't see anything obviously wrong in your ini files (though I'm not an expert on the Skyrim inis). In your enblocal.ini I found this: [ENGINE]ForceAnisotropicFiltering=trueMaxAnisotropy=16 Setting Anisotropy to maximum (like you do) will cost a lot of performance for (IMHO) very little gain. Try reducing it to 8 or 4 and see, if this helps. Don't think that's the cause of your issue though. We're talking about 2-5 FPS or so here... ExpandSystemMemoryX64=trueis a somewhat critical value. In theory a performance gain, practically cause of a lot of crashes. Leave it on, if it works for you. Otherwise set to "false". What you can try: "Unbleak" is a very old preset. It might have problems with the current ENB binary. Download one (or several) of the "legacy" versions from enbdev.com and try, if the preset runs better with them.Just for comparison, you can also try a differrent (and preferably more recent) preset and see, how this works. On a sidenote: Since your on Windows 10, due to a bug (or whatever) with the OS, you can only use 4 GB for 32bit applications. Your 16 GB won't help you in this case. ENB can't expand the usable meomery (like it would do on WIndows 7 64). Just something to keep in mind. Don't loose hope though: It IS possible to run a heavily modded Skyrim with ENB with WIn 10. Did that myself for some time. EDIT: I'm a little slow at thinking ATM - need more coffee I guess..The proxy configuration in your enblocal.ini is somewhat strange. Use the original settings from UNBLEAK:[PROXY]EnableProxyLibrary=trueInitProxyFunctions=trueProxyLibrary=d3d9_sfx.dll Edited April 11, 2017 by Algabar
kppk34
Thanks for replying people. I tried the windowless thing and it did improve performance, but then I had issues with equipping items and using the inventory that made it unplayable. I did change the proxy stuff to true and it worked decently I think. I'm using the start another life mod and I seem to have the most problems during the vanilla opening when we're being carried off to be beheaded. I tested this with the one where you are a hunter and the lowest FPS I got was when 20 in Helgen Keep. I also tested it with the "I am a soldier" beginning to see if other npc's were the problem. Nope, I stole an iron bar and set fire to everyone around and within that combat the lowest was about 21, never below 20 so far. I can't get through the vanilla intro without dropping low in FPS and ultimately CTD before I can even get into the keep. Is the vanilla intro that bad, or could it be the mass amounts of people + a dragon. The latter means I cant really play the game cause, well... dragons. Algabar
Single dragons shouldn't be a problem. Maybe an attack on a populated town like Wihiterun could be interesting FPS-wise, but in general you SHOULD be able to fulfill your duty as the Dovahkiin... Regarding hardware, the vanilla intro is arguably the most demanding part of the whole game. Almost everything is scripted, there are a lot of actors (all with their scripts and dialogue lines), then there are all these fires and all the soldiers running around... IMHO, it's not the visual efffects though, but the papyrus load. This gets even worse in a heavily modded game, when a lot of mods start to initialize and configure themselves for the first time. Unfortunately, there are only two ways around this problem.1. Use an alternate start.2. Disable every mod, that isn't absolutely needed at the beginning. Get through the vanilla intro and out of Helgen, the save at an indoor location. Now enable the mods you really want to use for your playthrough. Adding mods isn't that dangerous, its removing them in the midst of a playthrough that possibly destroys savegames. Maybe you should also disable / uninstall ENB during the intro. ENB doesn't affect save games, so you can always change this later.
