Hi all, I haven't installed very many mods and I used Nexus mod manager and it didn't seem to work.

I switched to mod organizer and tried to install from installer and wouldn't work, so I downloaded the RAR file over on the skyrim section of nexus mods and it found the my game I was installing Fallout New Vegas mods when I booted it from the RAR. I proceeded to download 10 or so mods and tried launching and it didn't work, then i realized I needed plugins. Anyways, I forgot to extract the file for mod organizer on the desktop and after I closed the window for mod organizer, I extracted the files thinking that it saved its files in the RAR file and proceeded to launch again.

It acted like it was my first time opening and didnt show anything I was messing with for the past hour. I even launched it from the RAR file to see if it remembered anything and it didn't.

What do I do? I have no idea where any of those mod files downloaded and I don't feel like downloading all over again because they'll be taking up space. Any suggestions where to find the mod files or get Mod Organizer to find them again?

Thanks,

Whichever mod manager you use, you have to invest some time in the manual to learn how to properly use it. You are going to spend a lot of time with it, so it is well worth the investment up front. Please see the 'Mod Managers' section of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article for tutorials in both written and video format.

I suggest you read the entire document linked above, as you seem to have the wrong idea about the role of RAR, which is an archive package format.

Thanks for no help what-so-ever. I'm fully aware of what RAR provides for files and know enough about it. My question that flew so damn high over your head it hit mars is, that I downloaded about 10 mods within mod organizer are now gone and haven't got a clue where they went. That was the question and you just refer me to some how to use. I know how to use it and don't need to read it.

Let me rephrase,

1. downloaded mod organizer from skyrim nexus

2. opened in rar file that had exe

3. it found new vegas

4. proceeded to search the nexus and downloaded about 10 mods

5. installed mods

6. install whatever plugins they had

7. ran game

8. crashed cause reasons

9. closed mod organizer

10. went to reopen and found it saved no information about anything

11. whined on forums to see if anyone would help and not post about going to read something about how to use a program

12. waiting for response from people that are actually helpful
