When and at what level did you go to diamond city.

I'm finally understanding why you people wait soo long, at level 35 I'm finally getting enough caps from railroad jobs to continue settlement expansion.

I've got something like 50 hours on this save and I'm now steadily getting about a level an hour.

Err... I can't speak for the others, but in my case it seriously wasn't some hidden motive. I really didn't want that kid back.

I mean, I've played enough games to know that the first thing they tell you to do is NEVER the end of it. The princess is ALWAYS in another castle, is all I'm saying. Think about how the game didn't end when you found your dad in FO3, nor did it end in NV when you find the guy who shot you and took your chip. When you do the first thing that seems to be the goal of the game, AT BEST, if you're lucky, you're told what the actual goal is.

And I guess knowing the monomyth very well by now also doesn't help with getting surprised. Seein' as everyone massages their story into the exact same monomyth mold.

So it was clear that Kellogg is way more likely to end up being a contagonist, than THE antagonist.

Only question was: so exactly how is it going to play out when I find him. It's not always that it ends in a shootout at that point. Think about exactly what shooting was involved when you found dad in FO3. Exactly sweet FA, that's how much.

So there was a chance I'd actually get the kid back at that point. Honestly, even after knowing the actual story, it would have made no real difference.

And by Odin's iPatch... it's... hard to explain unless you've SEEN the kid I got on the first try. It had a duckface that made me think Nora cheated on me with Donald Duck. It had such thick and pouted lips, it looked like I could stick him to the window like one of those suction-cup towel-hangers. In fact, that was my plan for Helloween, to really scare the crap out of the kids, but then the bombs fell

So, yeah, I really didn't want that kid back

As for money, well, there's more than one way to skin a cat. Method #13: sandpaper

Err... I mean, there's more ways to get materials than buying every shipment in sight. Shipments are very expensive. I think they were more like meant to fill in the gaps, than main way to get your materials. It's easier to just do junk prospecting runs for most of the materials and really pick the place clean. And just store the excess junk from a building in some container at the front, so you can go back for it.

And wear a power armour frame when you go back for it, so you don't have to do as many trips to get all the loot.

I went pretty early. I always test myself in Fallout games to see how far I can go as an early leveler. I used to take pride in being able to make it to the Vegas strip at level 1 or 2. Skyrim was just a quick carriage ride to whichever city, but there wasn't really a big city goal. I went to Diamond City solely because Piper looked the cutest of the companions...yeah that's how I roll.

I can relate to that. Before Automatron I used to rush to get curie. Mmm, dat hot ass on a Miss Nanny...

I'm always a more RP orientated character, for my current play through I'm heart broken over losing my wife.

Finding the minute men and doing their quests was my main goal, My character felt as if his entire life was over.

He was depressed, and hoped that by helping people, and leading the minute men he would some how heal.

After building the castle, sanctuary, and the starlight drive.

He felt more "rooted". But still felt like he was missing something.

He needed a escape from all the things that had gone wrong for him.

and living in sanctuary was not helping, hearing about nuka world thats where he went.

He was enthralled with gage, a man who wielded the same amount of charismatic intelligence as he.

But never stepping up to lead, instead guiding some one else.

My char, quickly decided that he wouldn't be played for a fool.

Instead he would use his own charms to play gage.

Somewhere along the line of learning about, and gaining each others trust they truly fell for one another.

He said no to invading the commonwealth(using a mod)

Not because of morals or the minute men, but because he came here to "get away from that s#*!".

anyway, after doing all that I'm level 75.

Finally considering going to diamond city.

Unless some one else has more to add, I doubt I'm going to post any more updates.

First play through about level 20. Last play through, MUCH later, about 100.

Seems quite a few people rush the first time, Like I did. then do exactly what I did and wait until they are so high level the main story quests are easy as pi.
