Just a little Fallout 4 stuttering / lag trouble shooting

Hi I wanted to post this here to get an idea just in case it can help. Since I have played Fallout 4 on PC, and I've had it about a year almost i can say? (I've played longer than that but I've only had it on PC a while) anyway back to the topic on hand. I've been using mods for games since I've started PC gaming, which was about around Winter 2015. I have had not many problems with mods (besides the obvious mistakes people new to modding do) until I've come across fallout 4. Oh man, I like this game but it has been the worst game so far I've had when it comes to modding and well playing overall. The reason I bring this up is ever since I've started modding Fallout 4 further, I've been getting strange lag spikes / stuttering as I play. I could be running anywhere from 45 - 60 fps overall in the game after changing so many settings to get the game to work at all without it being a train wreck, but for a while now I've been getting spikes of lag where I will be playing, just in a fire fight or running and suddenly I have a drop to 20 - 30 fps or lower for like 2 or 3 seconds or some times more. I'm unsure if this is just my overall amount of mods, certain mods I am using or if my PC is just being a potato and I need to change even more settings. I'll post my load order for all and any who want to help, because all though the lag is a hindrance, it is not making the game unplayable (at least not to me, others might disagree.) Let me guess, it gets worse the closer to downtown Boston you get? Yes, the vanilla game is not optimized correctly and is a mess. Fallout 4 literally has lag spikes for almost everyone. I'm sorry to say that you can slightly improve your performance with less mods/less processor intensive additions to your game but it is the game itself which is not optimized correctly. Many of us have fallen down the rabbit hole trying to get FO4 to run smoothly and suffice to say, it won't.

 

The only realistic solutions I have heard so far are either running less mods or having an extremely powerful processor.

Well I assumed so but hey i'd rather ask than not do anything. I'll go through and remove some mods at least, and a better processor isn't going to happen till I get some money for a new gaming rig. Could you suggest maybe some mods I should remove to help somewhat? Although I have a general idea of some mods which are pretty processor heavy, I don't know all of them. It's such a shame Fallout 4 is like this though, I can run a heavily modded Skyrim and New Vegas Fine among other games, and this one always gives me trouble (it's one of the reasons I play New Vegas more anyway.) Thank you a lot Fatalmasterpiece, I simply removed a bunch of mods that I deemed unnecessary and too processor hungry, of course not too much so my game explodes, and got my load order down to at least 150 instead of almost 180 and holy crap my game is running so smooth now save for a few hiccups in heavy combat and downtown of course. I'm used to New Vegas having a limit on mods before the game s#*! on me, but wasn't aware Fallout 4 would do the same for some reason. Thank you a lot once again, hopefully in the future when I get a better PC I can handle a few more mods.

For me I simply turn off ENB when downtown, saves about 10-20 FPS.
