API?

The entire toolset is releasing tomorrow, but they have never released an API for any of them. Closest you will come would be the SKSE injector.

 

Unlikely. Scripting this time around looks to be externally handled though (in text files) which has all sorts of advantages.

I've honestly had nothing to do with modding, but i'm a CS student, and am quite knowledgeable on programming. I just assumed that there would be an API to code with... maybe i should have done some more research before starting a thread lol. which is true for almost any thread.

It's not an API in that it allows external apps to interact with the CK. Everything not covered by the CK unfortunately is being done manually (that includes modeling, texturing, animations, etc). Due to licensing restrictions most likely. It is an API in that it allows you to do anything with the game, essentially, with the exception of extended scripting support (SKSE) and possibly UI modding (no word on that yet). Mind you I know absolutely nothing about ActionScript and ScaleForm, and my experience in Flash is limited to making stupid intro videos. But anyways. Edited by jimhsu
