Hey guys, I will no longer update my mods, I apologize for being away for so long.

Feel free to use any assets from my mods, without restricitions, and you don't need my permisson, just do as you please

here is a link to where he said it - http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/users/3810380/? and to me that looks like he has given permission for people to use and do what you want with it is that rite as he has not stated anything you cant do withe the mod.

Legally, here's how it works, in the U.S. at least.

When you create an original creative work, you automatically own the copyright. You have to file all the paperwork before you can defend it in court, but you own it as soon as you create it. That means you have the rights to determine who redistributes it and how.

If someone else points to something THEY created, and says, "You can use this for personal use, but you can't redistribute", then that means what it says. Technically you have what is called limited license.

If that someone puts out in writing, "I release this to the public domain", then they've abandoned copyright. At that point, it belongs to everyone. Or, more to the point, it doesn't belong to anyone: it's an abandoned couch left in the street.

However, if they say, "I don't care, you can use this without restriction", then they maintain ownership of the copyright, but they're effectively granting unlimited license.

"No restrictions, no permissions, do what you please" - that's pretty clearly unlimited license. It's not public domain. The author is saying that he/she hasn't given up ownership, but agrees to take no action regarding enforcing copyright on it.

So knock yourself out. You can do with it whatever you want.

It doesn't matter what some troll on Bethesda.net says. I don't understand why you think random people on Nexus or Steam agreeing with you even matters. You've got clear permission to upload it and plenty of evidence to provide to Bethesda.net staff if the trolls try to report you. Just upload it, and send proof to Bethnet staff as needed. You're trying to make this a bigger issue than is necessary. Enjoy your upload of the mod on bethnet and ignore the trolls. If your intent here is to actually start some sort of flamewar or arguments in general about legal issues then just don't.
