KagrenacsLibrary
:wallbash: If this has already been said or proposed please link to the page or send me a link. And sorry for the inconvenience :wallbash: As I now understand it, I apologize for any misinformation (please notify me), the Morroblivion project was halted due the legality of certain parts of the game being licensed to Bethesda and not directly owned by them. I have played Morroblivion and know first hand that the NPC's are not all there and that discussion was out of the question so as far as unique characters and dialogue I doubt thats was an issue. From my personal experience I have a feeling it was either artwork (textures etc.) or music that was at fault for the project being "taboo." I propose that here we get as many people to "sign on" to "petition" Bethesda for a list or category of items that are prohibited from use in mods, to accomplish two goals. ONE: The prevention of future misuse of protected materials contained within the games. Materials licensed to Bethesda but not owned by them. In an attempt to dissuade issues in the future regarding cross gaming mods. TWO: The removal and replacement of all protected and liscened materials from the morroblivion mod in such a way that the content is no longer present or construed as misuse of licensing. I am aware that some law savvy users may be more "up" on the real details of this issue. Please post if you have any reason believe this cannot be done, or any advice on how this may be accomplished. I am one of many modders and users who was went literally crazy with joy over the morroblivion project and I would love to see it finished. :thanks:
Vagrant0
They seemed pretty intent in just killing the project, so much so that they didn't even spend the time initially to explain why. Trying to get them to cooperate with you probably won't happen due to this. It would also be rather hard to track down what is, and what is not legal to use, and any mistake would be bad on their part. It is simply easier to just disallow ALL of the resources for such use. Additionally, once files are converted, controlling their alteration, or re-distribution would be too difficult to enforce. This is especially true in the case of partial resource groups, since those groups would probably be suplimented with usermade resources. By disallowing anything of the sort, they are preventing any sort of confusion on what resources are what. It is simply not going to benefit them by working with such a proposal. They are more concerned about Fallout at this point in time. Even if such a measure would increase sales, the sales of older games doesn't seem to be of much importance since they havn't bothered to make either game work better with vista.
