I mean, you can build low to middlingly sorta good gaming PC for under $1000, but it won't be anything near great. Better to budget something closer to $1500-$2000+ if you want a /gaming/ (not just regular type) computer. For a gaming /laptop/, think maybe twice that. I don't know if you could get away with asking for a laptop that runs Skyrim in our tech area) Honestly, though. Just save up more. A 400 dollar gaming laptop won't get you far. About 1k is where we get decent ones. Personally, I like Sager, but Asus also offers some pretty cool ones on Newegg. Which is where you should check first.
