ProphecyDestroyer
My shadows are very bad outside and for interiors; the shadows do all kinds of weird things and make the game unplayable for me. The shadows are very pixelated and more annoyingly make a crazy strip effect. The game does this while running vanilla with all the DLC + unofficial patches, and I've never seen the shadows look normal. I've tried downloading the stripped shadow fixed mod but I didn't seem to have any result, and I tried adjusting my skyrimpref.ini but i'm sure what values to set. I'm going to attach some pictures of the issue. Please and thank you for advice/help. Specs Windows 10 ProAMD FX 4130 Quad Core 3.80 Ghz8gb of RamBFG GeForce GTS 250 1gb (nvidia)164gb of free hardrive space on C: where the game is installed. I run the game on the medium setting with no FXXA. As I stated this issue appears to be with the Vanilla game with mods having no effect. But maybe i'm wrong because I'm new to modding in general for Bethesda games. 0 0 Skyrim.esm 1 1 Update.esm 2 2 Dawnguard.esm 3 3 HearthFires.esm 4 4 Dragonborn.esm 5 5 Lanterns Of Skyrim - All In One - Main.esm 6 6 HighResTexturePack01.esp 7 7 HighResTexturePack02.esp 8 8 HighResTexturePack03.esp 9 9 Unofficial High Resolution Patch.esp10 a Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp11 b Unofficial Dawnguard Patch.esp12 c Unofficial Hearthfire Patch.esp13 d Unofficial Dragonborn Patch.esp14 e IcePenguinWorldMap.esp15 f SkyUI.esp16 10 Relationship Dialogue Overhaul.esp17 11 Skyrim Immersive Creatures.esp18 12 SoS - The Wilds.esp19 13 SoS - Civilization.esp20 14 OBIS.esp21 15 dD - Realistic Ragdoll Force - Realistic.esp22 16 RaceMenu.esp23 17 RaceMenuPlugin.esp24 18 OBISDB.esp25 19 PalistovSpinningArrows_CloserQuiversLongerArrows.esp26 1a WetandCold.esp27 1b WetandCold - Ashes.esp28 1c DSerArcheryGameplayOverhaul.esp29 1d Skyrim Immersive Creatures - DLC2.esp30 1e SoS - The Dungeons.esp31 1f Hothtrooper44_ArmorCompilation.esp32 20 Campsite.esp33 21 Hunterborn.esp34 22 RealisticNeedsandDiseases.esp Further Dark Dungeons for ENB.esp35 23 Skyrim Shadow Striping Fix.esp36 24 Immersive Patrols II.esp37 25 RND_HearthFires-Patch.esp38 26 FishingInSkyrim.esp39 27 Equipping Overhaul.esp40 28 DeadlyCombat.esp41 29 DeadlyCombat_GiantsAIFix.esp42 2a Dual Wield Parrying_LeftHand.esp43 2b RND_AnimalLoot.esp44 2c RND_Dawnguard-Patch.esp45 2d RND_Dragonborn-Patch.esp46 2e RND_USKP-Patch.esp47 2f Hothtrooper44_Armor_Ecksstra.esp48 30 FNIS.esp49 31 Guard Dialogue Overhaul.esp50 32 RealisticRoomRental-Basic.esp51 33 TKAA.esp52 34 Open Cities Skyrim.esp53 35 Alternate Start - Live Another Life.esp54 36 DeadlyCombat_ASIS_Patch.esp(Mods that have been installed but deactivated are Relighting Skyrim, Static Mesh Improvement Mod, Climates of Tamriel-V. Algabar
It's indeed a well known issue, that already can occur in the vanilla game. Lighting mods and ENBs might make the striped shadows worse, but they don't cause them. Try installing the "Unofficial Legendary Patch" / USLEEP (BTW, you should use it anyway - it's a very useful and comprehensive bug fix patch): http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/71214/? USLEEP contains a fix, that SHOULD make most of these striped shadows go away. Edited April 15, 2017 by Algabar

After some tweaking to my skyrimpref.ini and the patch I have more smoothed out shadows but the strip issue seems to still affect the wall I posted originally. I've noticed it goes away from certain distances and angles, but that's most likely typical behavior I assume. Thanks again I feel like a fool for not having USLEEP in the first place. It fixed some other minor bugs I noticed. Edited April 15, 2017 by ProphecyDestroyer
