Fallout 4: Nuclear Option Detonator not activating

So i managed to beat the game for the minutemen side and once i get to the top of the fusion tower i talk to preston and he says to press the detonator, so i go to press the detonator and nothing happens, no sound effects, it doesnt move, nothing, it just sits there. I tried doing it in and out of power armor and its the same deal. I tried installing UFO4, Verifying game cache and running the game without skse but nothing seems to work
