Kresselack
The statue of Tiber Septim in the Imperial City shows him holding a diamond-shaped shield with the imperial legion crest inlaid within it. Has anyone tried taking it from the statue and converting it into a shield?
thking9794
Yeah, i already tried, it is not a seperate piece of the staue, it is all one mesh, i really like that shield though, and was thinking maybe someone could retexture one of the Knights of the Nine shields (not me i am horrible at texturing). I like your idea though
Triforce1
This would be great! Someone should definately do that! If you do, I want it. In fact, I posted a remark about this very shield earlier on another thread...
Kresselack
Thanks for the comments. Too bad we cant take it apart, that is unless you have something better than blender. I know Maya can do the trick, but we dont know how to convert its files to .nif. I'm not sure about 3D Studio Max though.

Triforce1
I have 3ds max, but I am still learning it. If you guys could teach me how to import already existing models into max, then I would gladly create the shield. But as of now, I have no idea about importing / exporting stuff. Please, someone teach me!
thking9794
Wish i could, but the mesh is already in the game for those of us that have KOTN, just use the KOTN shield or the Crusaders Shield and retex it. But as i said earlier i am not good at texturing. I am trying to learn how in GIMP.
DogtoothCG
if someone can find me a nif importer for 3ds max 9 i can get the mesh off of it, but someone else will have to rig it to a skeleton. btw if you have 3ds max and nifskope, getting the shield mesh would take less than 5 minutes, including startup time for 3ds max
Triforce1
Spectacular news. However, I still don't know how to import meshes into 3ds Max 2008 (is that 9, or otherwise?). All I can do is import it through nifskope, and only as a "wavefront object" .obj file that I can't do anything with. To use an example, can someone tell me how to import, say, the components that make up Leyawiin Castle in a way that I can mess with the components and apply textures to them in the engine? Because I want to be able to put the castle together in a way that it looks as it does in the CS. Possible? (I know this is way off-topic, but when I requested this formally, no one was of any help. How about you guys? Please?) :thanks:
