A few question.

Heyo! Just saw on steam that they are having a 33% off deal for digital copy of Skyrim. Look awesome and very tempted to get it. But got a few question before I actually buy it. I'm already playing Skyrim and loving every minute of it. But since steam has also launched a nexus type system for Skyrim for modding purposes I'm wondering what kind of position it puts nexus in? Are the modders here all for it? Would it make the use of nexus site obsolete? Can I still use mods from nexus on a steam version of this game? The reason I'm thinking of buying it is because 1. Feeling good giving money to those who make our awesome games. 2. Patch support for bug fixes and possibly performance tweaks. 3 I like owning all my games through steam so that I never lose my games instead of physical copies that are susceptible to wear and tear. Will nexus pour all it's mods into this steam-type interface or be indifferent?

How are you playing Skyrim if you haven't bought it yet?

To answer the question, yes any mod for skyrim can be used on the PC version no matter where you got the mod from Nexus, steam or otherwise. PC skyrim requires steam to play in the first place so...

Thanks for the response. I guess another question too would also be. If I see a mod on "Steam Workshop" as they call it. Would mods from nexus and from there be compatible with each other or are there conflicts with them? From what I understand about modding we create folder paths identical with the .bsa files directory so that when we load the game with a mod manager they will load the files in the folders instead of the files from the .bsa files. Does workshop have this same type of setup in which obviously 2 similar mods would conflict with each other or just outright refusal of co-operation between NMM and SWS?

Could be in a position like myself, I had planned on getting the PC version at some point after the mod community had built up, but received the PS3 version as a christmas gift.

I 'upgraded' to the 'better' version today with the sale ;)

Not sure we have much info on how the Steam Workshop handles conflicts?
