shadowfaux3002
So I recently decided to change my game to run HDR and AA. I went to my Nvidia Control panel, and I changed so it will run at full AA. When I loaded up the game, I noticed that the AA that my video is forcing upon the game is worse than the games base 2 samples of AA. Is there anyway to improve the AA my video card is forcing? damstachizz
In NV control panel, is it set to Enhance the program settings, or override it?
shadowfaux3002
I went to Nvidia Control Panel>Manage 3D settings. So I assume it is overriding Oblivions settings.

So I assume it is overriding Oblivions settings.do this..NV control panel>Manage 3d settings>oblivion (type in 'Elder' to jump to it)>Antialiasing Mode>Override any application setting>Antialiasing setting> [2x,4x,8x..etc] ^ that will force oblivion to use full AA, instead of when its set to 'Enhance any app setting', with which it only helps oblivion use the AA mode. damstachizz
I also play this game with HDR.. and 4xaa\6xaf forced through the control panel, yeah, it really is the best way to make oblivion look awesome..i still wonder why Bethesda made it so you have to force it to run AA..every other game i play can run HDR and AA at the same time  anyway, follow the steps i said earlier, and it should look great. Circuitous
Hm... after setting it to override Oblivion's settings, I set the anti-aliasing to 16x, loaded it up, and... no change at all. I tried setting it to 2x. Loaded it up... no change. 4x? Nothing. I'm not getting any effect out of forcing the AA level. Is there a toggle somewhere I'm missing? Edit: actually I seem to be getting the framerate of 16x AA but not the actual effect. Weird.

Ive had to go back to oblivions default 4x AA and bloom :/
