Skyrim CK Question - Preset Face

Garathos

Recommended Posts

I have been playing round in the CK and have made a new preset face to add to my selection at the start of the game when creating the char. The question is this. How can I add said new preset into the game?

As it currently stands it looks like I would have to publish it in the steam workshop or something. But since I dont even know if it works, surely there is a way for me to test this preset out in game without publishing it. Heck since its not even something I deem worthy of uploading to the workshop as its just a experiment, is there any way to avoid publishing it altogether?

I'm going to assume you've edited one of the default presets in the CK, as listed here:

In that case, if you've already edited the desired preset, you just need to save the mod as an .esp file to your Skyrim "Data" folder.

Then it's just a matter of activating the .esp file from the "Data Files" option in the start up menu. This way you have the .esp in your game for testing without having to upload it to Nexus or Steam Workshop or anything.

Remember to keep in mind that there are fairly simple tutorials all over the internet for this sort of thing. ;)

EDIT: The Creation Kit is so similar to the Construction Set that I would suggest using this to learn the beginning of modding: http://cs.elderscrolls.com/index.php/Portal:Featured_Content

Or, as a matter of fact, simply use the tutorials posted in this very forum. http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/522532-skyrim-tutorials/
