Faivon
Whenever I tried to exit the game, it takes about 2 to 4 minutes for it to appear back to my desktop. Is there something that I can do about it? Or it's just that I have quite a lot of mods in it?The gameplay runs pretty smoothly though..Just the exit time is so slow
MRG
How much system RAM does your PC have installed & whats the Speed of it. If you have a limited amount, like say 1GB or less, it is possible that your RAM can be holding up your PC from exiting to your desktop, as it tried to dump the games data from the memory. While this is not always the case, it can be a factor. Also when you exit to your desktop, do you have a bunch of other programs running in the back ground? By this, I mean look down near the clock on the bottom right of your screen. Do you see alot of icons? These are programs that are running (which use system resources) A generic, way to close all of them, is to: 1) Click on START2) Click on RUN3) Type "msconfig" without quotes, hit enter4) Click on the STARTUP tab in the middle right.5) Click "Disable All" & Reboot.6) After first reboot, check the box in the screen that pops up. This will stop those programs down in your task bar from starting & running when your PC boots up to your Desktop. If there are programs you want to keep running, simply leave the check next to them between step 4 & 5 above. Always reboot. You can also Right click on the ocons & close them that way if you want, but they will reload the next time you restart Windows. When you play, disable any Antivirus programs you may have running like Nortons. Does your PC have good cooling? Slow exit from programs can cause a delay as your PC exits one program to return you to another. (Your desktop) Some people have issues with Oblivion closing quickly if they run an Athlon X2 based system. Make sure you have the newest drivers for your X2 installed if your system is based on that type of technology. My Phones rining, i'll post more info later. Let us know how it goes. -MRG
Faivon
I only have 1 GB RAM and actually it does not behave like this earlier. It just happens when I dump in some house mods but I'm not so sure about it.I believe I already close most of my processes that runs in the background... Well, I tried to restart my PC and then start Oblivion and immediately exit the game and it takes around 15 seconds or somewhere close to it then I open up my Firefox to do some browsing and then run Oblivion again but now it takes 3 to 4 minutes... Ack! Err...do my PC has good cooling? I haven't shut down my computer for a long time and haven't clean the motherboard ... Maybe it is the case but again, I'm not too sure.
