Modernesque mod!

Hello! I've been in the Oblivion PLAYING community since something like May 2006, and my mods have always been the kind of things I'd never release due to their shoddiness or "they only suit me" styles. But now, I've decided to make a crashing, loud entrance into the community with a mod. I've got the time, I've got the ability, and I've definitely got the drive to make it happen, but I'm not the best with 3d programmes other than Zmodeler (A 3d modeling programme designed to handle designing cars and the like, not something that Oblivion is really too keen on).

What I need is someone to help me port and texture a bunch of models, only character models, into Oblivion. While I have the time to script and level design, I don't have the time to learn Blender/Nifskope and how the bits relate/react to Havok. That's why I'm asking for help.

In Zmodeler I've assembled textures and meshes that could/would work with Oblivion/etc.

The whole point of the mod is to introduce an alternative start point to the game. You start out as a modern-day Spec-ops soldier that has consequentially been sent into Tamriel without weapons, and especially without a clue. As you try and get used to the world of Cyrodiil, you also look for clues and ways back to modern times. Unfortunately, there's no way back, so you have to make do with what you've got.

I'm seeking a single person or multiple people to help me with the models. If anyone would like to help, I'm greatly appreciative.

The problem with modernish mods is that they usually don't make much sense when combinging with he normal world. In your case, you would be looking at alot of effort spent re-doing a very small, and almost meaningless, part of the game, just for an alternate start. It being a mod you pretty much have to start a new game for, and probably doesn't impact the main game in any way, doesn't help things. So just add more modernish things throughout the main quest right? As odd as it sounds, that really only makes things worse. Rather than just having some small portion which doesn't make sense, you have alot of other pieces that don't make sense. "So try to have them make sense" you say? Unfortunately this leads to even more work explaining why some things exist in the world and further problems, especially when trying to make those modernish things work.

Put simply, what we have access to for Oblivion Modding just doesn't lend itself well to anything other than the world of Oblivion, or something very close. The lack of Modern mods beyond minor things (like weapons, or houses) is not because there isn't interest, but because most of those mod ideas don't pan out. The lack of significantly different TC mods is also due to how poorly non-standard things end up working.

I have no doubt that your time would be better spent on something more viable. Even if all you had planned was moving though a few quasi-modern settings before being dropped into Tamriel, there really isn't much point to such a mod beyond the initial 5 minutes of "ooh, new meshes".
