Deleting Landscape Grass LOL?

Yeah i've been looking for an option to do this myself, im used to the aurora toolset from nwn where things like that is a cakewalk, so i was suprised that this would be complicated. The only thing i see is the grass under landscape, but these only give you the option to decrease or increase density etc. And that about helps me nothing. You can always create new grass with less density and use the same grass mesh, but you still can't (re)place it. Im working on exterior cells atm, so if i find anything i'll be sure to tell, but as of now, i have nothing on this. Almost embarresing when you can't figure out how to remove something so trivial like grass!!

Yeah i took a deep look into this for converting a house to Xbox, and i have effectively found the answer to both of these questions, Neither is possible.

Ah well there goes my Xbox 360 - Dragonborn Mansion - :'(

Well the developers did place grass somehow, and i refuse to think that grass is supposed to be auto-generated in any way, there must be a way, i just have not found it yet. Either that or the Creation Kit got a missing tool.

Well that might be, i've tried switching out textures with the name "nograss" just for fun and see what happens to get it removed, but without luck. However, i did not try to validate anything after i did so, that could be the case why i would not see any changes, neither did i check this ingame, but i might try this.

My main problem is that i want to create a pond with a river connected, and after using landscape editing to decrease height on certain areas the grass was left midair so i had to turn it off to see how the water was in there. Though placing the water was one thing, but the grass persist.

I also noticed that sometimes when painting the landscape with texture, certain blocks are painted pitch black no matter how little opacity you use on the brush.

Of all the mod tools i've used, this one is the complicated one i've worked with when it comes to placing and removing basic grass.

Sk8on, only a certain number of landscape textures can be blended per vertex in the landscape. But, I had cases where the surrounding quads were all the same texture and still had black textures, I'm not convinced it's working properly.

Mansh00ter, I think what we need is some function that updates/applies grass settings after editing. As it stands now, changes to landscape shape or texture aren't automatic.

Well in the Construction Kit the changes will not appear, but for fun i textured the ground with "nograss", made a backup and went ingame to check it out. The grass in the areas i painted with no grass are now without grass, so they are indeed bound to textures, i suspected as much, but when i did not see the changes in the construction kit i thought it was'nt it. However, some of the area is pitch black, more in the construction kit than ingame however. Do you other guys get this problem when painting textures?

The grass gets removed, but if it's replaced by areas of black textures im not sure thats a fair trade!

This bothered me too yesterday evening.

I flattened and smoothed the landscape to make some level ground for a house and pOOf: flying grass!

The wiki doesn't seem to have any info on this. I'll look into it later, there must be a simple explanation/solution...
