AttemptedGnome Posted February 8, 2012 Share Posted February 8, 2012 (edited) So, I was browsing the Steam Workshop and came across this mod (not made by myself, all credit goes to the creator): http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=7935 The creator of this mod essentially made theirself as an NPC, or rather they made their character as an NPC, which got me thinking...What if we created a community-wide project for anyone to participate in whereby you simply create your own character as an NPC, give it a story or quests if you like, and simply place yourself into a part of Skyrim where you would envisage your character living. The point of this project would be to basically populate Skyrim with our own characters, for everyone to see. While also bringing the community that little bit closer together, it's a great way to add some life to Bethesda's world. Imagine wandering through the wilderness only to see a fellow Nexus modder being burnt to a crisp by a dragon. Or walking into a tavern and being able to hire someone you know as a companion/follower. The extent and depth to which you create your character is entirely up to you. That could mean anything from simply placing yourself as an NPC somewhere in the world, to having a full daily routine with voiced dialogue and quests, etc.Of course there would have to be some rules so as to stop people from making their NPC an unstoppable killing machine and whatnot. All in all, I think it could be a fun idea. The only problem is getting people involved.As far as the actual modding would go, you would create and upload your own individual mod for people to download. Links to everyone's individual mod could then be put into a main thread for the project as a nice way of keeping things together. I guess that's all I have to say for now.I'm not the best when it comes to getting people involved with things like this, but if you like the idea (or think it's terrible and should never be spoken of again) then be sure to post your opinion! SkjoldBjorn Posted February 8, 2012 Share Posted February 8, 2012 Hmm this is actually brilliant and funny, i would not mind seeing you lot walking around my world as long as i don't have to download nude mods. :)I guess apparance changing mods might be a problem with this idea.
