DOGREDRUM43130
Ok, so I have spent hours converting many of the armor replacement mods to a single esp that make all the armors stand alone. However, now when I wear the armors people keep telling me I am naked. So I have two questions. 1. What do I need to do to make the game recognize that I am wear clothes? (I would really like the answer to this one.) 2. How would I go about making the armors craft-able or at least up-gradable? (I can work around this but it would be nice.) kromey
Answering (2) first:You need to create recipes for them. These can be found in Constructible Objects in the CK; find a recipe for a similar item, duplicate and rename it, and then change the output to be your armor, and make any changes you wish to the materials required. You'll also find the tempering recipes in the same place -- same deal. For (1), I can only guess, but I suspect that in creating your new items you neglected to select the appropriate equip slots (or whatever the CK calls them, I haven't looked at this part in detail yet). Compare your items with an equivalent vanilla item (e.g. your gauntlets compared to iron gauntlets) and make sure the slots all match up like they are supposed to. EDIT: This page should be helpful. Thanks kromey, number 2 was the answer I was hoping for, for that question. I know I can do that. As for number 1, I copied the "replaced" armor when making the new ones. There is a keywords section that I skipped I'll try adding those in, but if it's a body armor it's using the body slot Beth left us plenty blank slots in this game (17 unlike the 3 we got in Fallout NV) Edit: The keywords does seem to be the key to stopping the NPC's from saying you're naked. Could you possibly elaborate on this? I'm also in the same rut, but not sure what's happening sadly :/
Wubble69
Hi All I'm having a problem creating Outfit Sets for an NPC I' ve made. I have created new textures for new *.nif's in photoshop, wrapped them to the meshes in nifskope. Imported the objects and textures into Skyrim. I could put the three new objects into a chest and leave them there for you to wear but that's not what I am trying to achieve. NPC's get default costumes that are on them when you first see them. You can give them better armor that they will wear but they always have a default armor "underneath" that. This is done by creating an outfit set. You can create a new outfit set but not add anything to it. You can copy and existing outfit set, rename it but you cannot add anything to it. Therefore I could not add my three new peices of armor to the outfit set. The wiki says http://www.creationkit.com/Bethesda_Tutorial_Creating_an_Actor "What an actor chooses to wear is determined by their Outfit. Skyrim ships with a number of snazzy outfits already defined, but you can make your own fairly easily if you want to." Except it's not easy and I can't do this as am unable to edit the outfit section at all. Any advice would be appreciated
DOGREDRUM43130
@GazzyWhich question do you need elaborated on I can help with the NPC's thinking your naked, but I have yet to try to get them craft-able. @Wubble69I haven't tried making an outfit yet, but I never liked the fact that my follower had a "default" armor. It meant that if I wanted them to wear something else it had to have better armor rating than that default armor. What I did you might be able to do too, put your armor in there inventory in the CK and select NONE in the default armor box. ghazzy118
Nvm, I found what my problem was lol. From what I can tell, I failed to also specify the GND.nif model for the female side of the armour, so that's why every time I was testing my mod, the game displayed them as naked as the day they were born, save for any of the default items that already came with the game. So yeah while your case was the keywords, mine was the Models XD Still, useful in the sense that it got me looking through and comparing what in the world was wrong with the mods I've been downloading. It's probably the same issue with a few other of the mods I have.
DOGREDRUM43130
Glad you found your problem.I wasn't "actually naked' I just had every NPC in the game telling me I was.
