Kit2carson
Thanks for posting this thread. The suggestion that programs managing multiple monitors were the source of the problem was very helpful. In our case it was Nvidia nView Desktop Manager. If one disables it then saving works.

Kkalex
Just in case someone else have the "must close all dialogue boxes" problem and doesn't have multiple monitors... I ran into this issue with the CK. I have one monitor (no nView or UltraMon). I spend a lot of time figuring out what was the problem to finally fix it. Those who have FileBox eXtender installed, you need to add the Creation Kit to the "Exceptions" tab of the FBX. If you don't do that, you will end with the "must close all dialogue boxes" message every time you will try to save your .ESP in the CK. 1) Open FileBox eXtender2) Click the last tab "Exceptions"3) Click "Add program to Exceptions..."4) Find "CreationKit.exe" on your computer (normally in your Skyrim folder) and double-click it. The file path is now in the Exception list.5) Under the Exception list, "No pushpin button" and "No roll-up button" MUST be checked!! Leave "Do not handle this program at all" and "No Favorites or Recent buttons" uncheck if you want to use the Favorites Folder in CK.6) Click "Hide" button. You are all set! CK will complain no more. Hope this will help someone in the future. (Sorry for my poor english)
kjodrisc
After a bit more investigating I have found that it was Ultramon doing it on my system, I went into the options and unchecked the "add move to monitor" button so it doesn't add it to all of the windows and the save works fine now with all of my monitors enabled. Great Find. I use "Actual Multiple Monitors" and it causes the same problem as UltraMon. If you add a exclusion for The Creation Kit window under window settings it fixes the issue. Thanks for discovering and posting this
reststopkirk
Hey guys, any idea for an AMD Radeon HD user? I don't have ultra-mon on this rig either. I spent a couple hours getting used to CK and ended up loosing all the data. Rather it didn't save correctly. Thanks for discovering and posting thisThanks for this, Confirmed with Actual Multiple Monitors. Just go under Window Settings, Click Add Exclusion, type in Creation Kit under the name, then browse for the .exe file under your Skyrim folder. ChihaTanka: You just saved me HOURS of frustration. Thank you! I Adjusted the UltraMon configurations settings for Creation Kit and it saves beautifully. Genius. VinceB
I know that pulling threads out of their graves like this tends to be frowned upon, but I just ran into this issue myself and the FileBox eXtender description looked exactly like what Teamviewer does with adding the "share window" widget on the title bar. If anyone is running Teamviewer, simply shut it down and the Creation Kit will save without issue.
MyGoodEye
Personally, VinceB, I'm glad you brought this thread back up... as you helped me solve my problem with SKYRIM SSE CK! I can confirm that disabling the QUICKSHARE feature of Teamviewer allowed the CK to Save as planned. NEVER would have thought of it had you not mentioned it here. Thanks!
