How Do I export the head Facegen?

Recommended Posts

I'm considering making a new Standalone Follower, but I need to know how to generate the Facegen from the Character Creation so that I can do the merge with CK FaceGen in NifMerge.

I know you can port ones over from LE but I want to start her over pretty much from scratch and development the technique for SE

(using this as kinda of a sounding board for ideas with this)

I know how to do this but it isn't what I'm looking for. (I'm the guy who made the tutorial on how to use Asherz2Ashes Make A Follower Kit for Legendary Edition)

It works for making a Preset but it requires mods as Masters thus not making it standalone.

When in RaceMenu in the Character Creation Menu on Legendary you could export the Facegen (the Mesh and texture) then use that exported mesh to merge it with the CK FaceGen.

That's what I want to learn to do in SSE.

Although it maybe possible to remove the appearance mods as masters after the Facegen export then simply set the texture paths in NifSkope to the textures in the mod folder.

So the Preset may work after all.

I'm personal friends with Ashez and he is completely sure I can make the NPC on Legendary Edition then merge that FaceGen with the SSE one. I'm not entirely sure about that as I know there are issues with mesh files between LE and SE.

If I can figure this out to do it all in SE, I will be creating a Follower Mod Kit for it with a video tutorial

Ah, sorry, it wasn't clear from your first post.

You should be able to use SSE Nif Optimiser to convert the oldrim facegeom meshes that RaceMenu exports into the BSDynamicTriShapes that SSE uses, then use a version of NifSkope that supports the SSE structures to edit them into the facegeoms generated by the SSE CK when you create/edit your NPCs.

Everytime I try to download something manually from this site it doesn't download and I get this notification "Waiting for available Socket"

Fairly frustrating

Which version of NifSkope? I use NifSkop 2.0 pree-alpha 5 at the moment.

Probably better to use pre-alpha six
