Anyone know how to put scars on characters in the creation kit? Maybe im missing it but i cant find anyway to do it; I cant find warpaint either. I tried adding a new face part or something like that in a box but nothing shows there even if i right click. I might be missing something, but help would be appreciated ! thank you!

Not sure about scars but the warpaint is under the Face Gen Parts in the actor tab listed under Face Tint Layers. Click on the DDS you want to use ie MaleHeadWarPaint_01.dds the use the drop down under Face Tinting Color to make it visible. *ColorAverage will put it back to being invisible but any other color will make it show up.

Scars are added items. Drag and drop the item into the box at the bottom right of the Character Gen Parts screen.

Edit: For some reason, I have trouble getting warpaint to show on females (works fine for males). Also, the picture doesn't always update when you make changes. Clicking the checkboxes at the bottom of the screen to swap between full and head views forces an update.

Sorry for ressing this thread, but i feel it would be wrong to make a new one about the exact same problem!

Khajit scars show up fine.. but when i add the nord scars, nothing shows!

And when i look at a person who already has scars, it does not show on them either, even though they HAVE scars in their list and in the game, why won't it show inside the editor?

Thanks for any help!

I don't understand the issue, but I have heard that there is currently a bug in Skyrim where certain edits to faces will not show up, no matter that you did them right. You can use some sort of console code to fix one actor at a time in-game, but that is really lame.

Just adding something I found out. If you have any facial mods installed, like XCE etc then your warpaint/scars wont show up. Uninstall them to make your mod then reinstall when your done. They'll show up during the editing and stay then afterwards.

Topic necromancy FTW!

(I have learned a few things in the four months since this thread died.)

In order to make certain types of edits to faces show up in the game, you have to perform a procedure somewhat like this one:

(1) You .esmify the .esp in Wrye Bash and then load it in the CK.

(2) You select all the actors added by the mod.

(3) You press CTRL + F4 to export facegen data. (It takes awhile.)

(4) You .espify the mod again using Wrye Bash.

Removing/adding scars in CK. I'm ot that experienced, but... In CK, Actor, Character Gen Parts tab, lower right hand box is Additonal Head Parts. I think you can just highlight and delete the scars there.

But I still don't understand, Susuruss:

"Scars are added items. Drag and drop the item into the box at the bottom right of the Character Gen Parts screen."

Dragged and dropped from where? I've been right clicking all over Gen parts but can't seem to find a list for scars. The only editable window I see is Scripts - that maybe the source. So I would have to know the name of the scar I guess.
