I checked the Wrye Bash Documentation for "If it won't start", but it says nothing of this issue.

Help would be massively appreciated.

Okay, is there anywhere I can get an understanding of the problem where I might find a possible fix?

Maybe this will help...

@Those having translation file problems: have you set 'bEnableUnicode' to 'True' in the bash.ini? Your other option is to force the English version, by deleting/renaming the files in "Mopyashl10n"

[RELZ] Wrye Bash -- Thead 56 : IV - Oblivion - Page 4

To enable it, set bEnableUnicode in bash.ini to True. Be aware that it does require the unicode version of wxPython to be installed. If it isn't, it won't work properly

Python Components

• wxPython 2.8.12.1 Unicode

• Python supports several different GUI libraries. Wrye Bash uses wxPython.

• Download link: [ wxPython 2.8.12.1 Unicode for Python 2.7]

More info [RELZ] Wrye Bash -- Thread 63 : IV - Oblivion - Page 2

@Damonya: like wrinklyninja said, looks like a unicode support problem. If you're willing to test it out, you can try unicode support by uninstalling the ansi version of wxPython, installing the unicode version of wxPython, then enabling unicdoe in the bash.ini (copy 'bash_default.ini' to 'bash.ini', then edit to make bEnableUnicode=True)

I'm having similar problems but I can't find this "bash.ini" file anywhere. It's probably under my nose, but I've been dabbling with Wrye Bash, trying to start it for a couple of days, and the only .ini file I can see is the "bash_default.ini", which is supposed to replace the first.

This is what my log reported:

Traceback (most recent call last):

File "Wrye Bash Launcher.pyw", line 33, in <module>

bash.main()

File "bash\bash", line 385, in main

bash.bolt.BoltError

Also when I run the .exe it says that the LocalAppData folder can't be found, as it is reporting it with some russian characters in its name, instead of the portuguese characters (Configurações Locais)

My apologies if this is not the right place to post, but I've been running in circles for a while and don't know what more I can do.

this part here here

UnicodeDecodeError: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xf8 in position 11: ordinal not in range(128)

means that the program is unable to understand a character.

If you search the last line of these error messages on Google usually some one else had this error too.

Like this

wrye bash unicodedecodeerror: 'ascii' codec can't decode - Google Search

Then you get some clues if you follow the search to places that look like what your problem is

Fixed in the SVN. You'll have to wait until the new Load Order issues are all sorted (no pun intended) out before I make an official release though.

If you are asking if I am, then no... My other handle starts with an S and I am not allowed to use it here because I used to have an account by that name here.

I am sorry I could not be more helpful I am not feeling well today and the problem with Bash is beyond my knowledge at present.

I have the same problem. Even tried installing an older version, but it doesnt help. Anybody found a fix for this yet?

Would very much like to combine WARZONES with MONSTER WARS and INCREASED MONSTER SPAWNS. Cannot run a stable game with only NMM, and it was a blast playing until it got unstable.
