laomaster
Hey, I haven't played New Vegas for quite a while, but then I realized if I repair the Combat Armor Reinforced Mk2, my characters can't wear it. I even tried it on 1 of my chars with the power armor training & he can't wear it. If I buy one from places like Gun Runners, my chars can wear it, but the Threshold is like half full. If I make my char repairs the armor, they can no longer wear it. Is this a bug or something? I use FOMM to launch the game & I already tried to disable all the mods & this still happens. Was there some sort of quests I have to do in order to wear it?
dubiousintent
It's not power armor, so no special training or quests. Sounds like a mod conflict. Need more detailed information. Please follow the guidelines in the wiki "How to ask for help" article. -Dubious-

Apparently, all the official DLCs are "dirty" or something, my char. can wear the armor now. Although I'm quite confused as to why the official DLCs would conflict with vanilla items like these, though. Anyways, thanks for the help even if it doesn't look like much. dubiousintent
Glad it reminded you. Just be aware that many experienced mod creators warn against cleaning the DLCs themselves of “Identical to Master” records (ITMs) as supposedly they are there to ensure their changes are applied to the original version of the record. I've never heard a convincing argument for retaining "Un-deleting and Disabling References" (UDRs), but that doesn't mean there isn't one. (There is plenty of evidence that the developers made as many of the same mistakes as us "amateurs".) Mods to the DLCs are something that should be cleaned by the author, and most are these days. But many mods "inject" changes to the game and DLC ESM files, so depending upon where they lie in the "load order", the DLC may not be as pristine as expected. Which is why you need "record conflict resolution" by way of "Bashed/Smashed patch" files. Please see the wiki "Merged Plugin Guidelines for Personal Use" article which goes into the subject in more depth. (It gets complex.) Check the docs of mods for references to the subject of "cleaned" first. Be sure to keep backups of those "dirty" files in case you need to revert to them if the clean versions don't work correctly. -Dubious- Edited April 26, 2017 by dubiousintent
