Adipose
I'm developing a thief character for the first time. Is it safe to assume that basing him out of Riften would be the way to go? Tentatively I'm building him around sneak, lockpicking, pocket picking, light armor, one hand, unarmed, and archery. Don't know if there's an unarmed mod for SSE as yet. Secondary will be alchemy and enchanting. Also trying the perk tree mod to be found on SSE Nexus.Kinda fun to switch back and forth between Skyrim and SSE. I'm running a lvl 61 Orc on Skyrim. That's a new one for me also. Probably run that guy to the end. Nice that there're several newer female Orc mods. They're pretty good looking...as Orcs go that is. Kudos to all the modders in Nexus Land that have built all the great mods. Be a pretty dull game without those folks. They sure make my old age a lot more enjoyable. Beats the H...l out of playing Solitare and it's a lot more satisfying than watching what comes out of the idiot box.
Brandiibuck
if your thief is going to be a member of the Thieves Guild, than yes, Riften is the best way to go. the Rift is also very pretty with all of the autumn foliage and wildlife. personally my favorite hold, being a thief myself! i'd drop Enchanting if you're not doing Smithing. you might be spreading your skills too thin if you do both of those plus the skills you already have, but if you do go with Enchanting/Smithing/Alchemy i'd drop Light Armor because you can just use the loop to reach the armor cap. i just use Smithing and Light Armor so i can have decent weapons and reach the armor cap, but even at Legendary quality they aren't the greatest at higher levels. (or maybe i'm just bad at the game... probably.) "idiot box" haha, agreed! i hope i'll still be playing video games when i'm your age (x
