[LE] New modder needs help with making Pirates of the Caribbean follower mod

Hi. I am new to modding and I decided I want to make a Pirate follower inspired by POTC. I already have custom textures for the clothing I want on the npc but I'm stuck on how to put them on the Skyrim meshes in NifSkope. Can anyone please tell me what I'm doing wrong and help me out? Thank you.
