interim
Sure, you can get your adult mods eventually but obviously Bethesda is not going to integrate them into their product. That just will not happen. Bethesda also marketed the game as a Mature game because, well, it deserves to be a mature-rated game. Decapitations, drug use, addiction, murder, wholesale killing, war... it isn't surprising that this game is rated Mature, so they didn't do it with any nefarious purpose, nor did they leave out prostitution and and whorehouses because they are lazy. Also, people buy the console versions of the game and they are modless so I don't think people would suddenly stop buying their games if they didn't include the SDK-- which is not something they would ever do. They also do not intentionally release a broken product because the "faithful" modding community (whom is often trash-talking Bethesda besides) will fix it for them. It's a software company, man! Have you ever worked for one? I have, and let me tell you not everything goes on schedule or to plan, and ALL OF IT costs money. Every little thing you do pushes out the release date a little bit and if you are not ready on time then you are losing even more money and your investors start losing faith. Sometimes the product just has to go out the door and you just hope for the best. Modders did not make the company, either. People purchase their products sure, and yeah people make mods and Bethesda embraces that, but you are seriously looking at it the wrong way if you actually believe that The Elder Scrolls and Fallout 3 were only successful because of modders. Many people who purchase these games will never mod them and the mod potential is not what sells them on the games. Vanilla Skyrim is indeed a fantastic game. There are bugs, sure. But the game is great because Bethesda CAN make a great game. If you honestly believe that the game is only great because of modders, I am really surprised that you could ever believe that. The modders are great and we all appreciate them, but they don't create the product in the first place. The product would never even get out of the planning stage without a real studio which is why Bethesda game modders have never gotten together and successfully released a game on their own, let alone purchased entire buildings, received investment capital, hired employees or publish games from other studios. Give Bethesda some credit. I am not saying you should kiss their boots, but give them the credit for creating games people love. And trust me-- people are working on 'adult mods' (which to me seems like a silly term because not all adults need wanton sex in their game)! You will definitely see them sometime soon, I am sure.
