I would recommend the Cyrodiil Upgrade set of mods to you. It fills in a lot of holes left in the vanilla game, adds lore and storyline, and improves NPC AI 500% (NPCs will be seen all over Cyrodiil vs. one or two locations).

(1) Origin of the Mages Guild

(2) The Elder Council **

(3) Elder Council_the Temple of the One

(4) Kvatch Aftermath

(5) The Necromancer

(6) Kingdom of Almar

(7) Fighters Guild Contracts

** - a work in progress. You can join the Imperial Legion and work your way up to Captain, you can collect taxes (& go good or evil on that), and rise to being a Duke. This mod will be close to completion once Giskard codes in the capability to rise up & become the Emperor of Tamriel.

I also recommend "Midas Magic Spells of Aurum". Hidden quests to find, new worlds/dimensions added.

hows the voiceacting in these mods? quality equal to the games voices?

It all depends on a few things - the person's recording equipment & software, their acting ability, and how much they cared about it.

It's difficult to attain studio-quality voiceacting on a PC (much less a laptop). You need better hardware like you find in recording studios. Bethesda had this, but modders (on the whole) do not have access. So it's a bit unfair to hold a person's work done on a home machine to the standards of a game developer company.

There is voiceacting in Giskard's mods. It cannot match Bethesda-quality (hardware limitations), but it isn't hard on the ears at all.

Oh, and remember this also - the voiceacting you hear within mods is strictly volunteer work. Money doesn't change hands. So a mod author is dependent upon how well the person can voiceact, as well as how excited the person is toward the mod.

Edit - in the Mages Guild & Elder Council, Giskard makes some good use of voice-changing effects. One is a disembodied voice, and the other is the voice of a huge apparation in the Elder Council Chambers.

i know myslef how hard it is lol... thats why i ask... personally all mods i tried even tho the authors put alot of work in the voices (myslef included) just dont work out well...

was hoping maybe these big name mods would have somone in team with access to recording equipment and be it just a silent room with acoustic cushioning and a good mic (that kind of room teen bands play in for example)...

i gonna try giskards mods then next time i have some bliffs laying round... playing somehow just aint as much fun if youre not beamed...

Great! Like I said, I'm running all of them, and I appreciate the fact that Giskard took the time to dig into the official game lore, and finish what Bethesda did not (the Elder Council, for one. How can you have a society without a functional government?).

Just make sure before you start a mod that your character is not in the location that's being modded. Very important for his mods, as they are quest-mods.

Also, take your time on the descriptions, as the unzip location is \Oblivion (not \Oblivion\Data). I use OBMM, so I took advantage of any of his files that were in OMOD format.

dude you remember 5 sidequests? mmh... maybe keep looking before you go for mods... there are like 50 of them... i played oblivion from the start and im still finding new quests lol

You're STILL finding quests?!! I can't find anything new at all. Mind you my map looks completely odd because I've found everything and icons are everywhere. Modding seems the only option.

The above are good, but you are forgetting to mention that not all are currently available. He can only play OMG, TEC and CURP.

Fighters guild contracts, Almar, The necromancer and kvatch aftermath are not available for public. That is only not to confuse people so they ask the same question again why can't i download all mods.
