FlyingHigh10000000
I've tweaked the hell out of my .ini files, with the help of a friend, and the game runs surprisingly well, even though my PC isn't exactly a heavyweight, by a long shot. I keep a backup set of the two .ini files that are in /My Games/Skyrim, because for some ridiculous reason, every time I start the normal Skyrim launcher(which is necessary to keep Steam Workshop mods updated now, not something that bothers me mind you) the game decides to "detect" my hardware settings and pick its own horribly-inaccurate defaults. Is there any way to just keep the launcher from touching my .ini files? I like how it keeps the Workshop stuff updated, but I hate that Bethesda decided that their launcher knows better than me what will and will not make the game run well on my PC. duchessnukem
As far as I know, the launcher will always do that. Even all the people at Bethesda don't run the game from the launcher most of the time because it does that. Run from the .exe after you have selected the data files you want from the launcher and then made the changes to the .ini. If anyone has found a workaround, I would love to know about it.
