dfennec
I'm almost ready to uninstall Skyrim (Bloody thing cost me 75 bucks at Walmart) and never touch it again, I've been fighting with it for a week trying to get the HDR to back down a fair bit, I can't even see my character properly. She's so dark that she may as well be a silhouette. Attached is exactly what I'm seeing and what's bothering me so bad. If anyone has any suggestions please feel free to post, thanks. duchessnukem
I think I've seen this issue before -- a few questions first: - Does your character's face seem to render properly?- Is your character the only one with the black texture? Are other khajit having the same issue?- Have you tried putting the graphics on different settings (low, medium) and does that make a difference?- Did this problem occur when you were creating your character as well? When did the problem start? There's a small chance I may be able to help.
dfennec
The face renders fine, the texture is there, just *very* dark, and yes it affects other khajiits, and before you ask I've used other skins and even other body shapes. Setting the game to low, medium and high settings has no effect, and it's been plaguing me from the get-go, even character creation. When in a dungeon or any other area inside the situation improves, slightly, but she's still extremely dark.
duchessnukem
I hate to ask you to do this, but you should try re-installing. The issue you're having is related to the skin-tints of a certain race not being properly set in the masterfile. Reinstalling the game may repair your masterfile and fix the issue. Can't make any promises, though. I completely understand the frustration, though. How annoying!
dfennec
I have reinstalled and reinstalled to no end, completely wiping the directory to no avail. I'm not a new user, been at this sort of thing for almost twenty years so I've tried everything I typically do.
duchessnukem
I know, my intention was not to insult your intelligence. I assume that most people on the nexus forums are experienced users.Do you have the new HD Texture pack installed? That's been causing issues for a lot of people recently. dfennec
As a matter of fact I do have it installed, I hadn't thought of that I'll try disabling it.
