Ulathar
Hey all, now that the CK is out i finally started to get into the "modding buisness". I worked through most of the Tutorials from creationkit.com and also saw the 4 video tutorials. This enabled me to start creating first parts of my first mod project. So far so good! Had no problems creating new cells, combine them, etc. But there are a few questions which i am unable to find answers for: 1. how do i make my cell and/or the storages like chests, barrels, etc "persistent" so that items stored in them will never ever disapear? 2. how do i "register" this cell as an additional player house? (so that the statistics menu gets a +1 for own player houses, i can move with my wife, etc) and the last question is a bit more complex (or at least the answer i guess):after all is set up to my satisfaction, i want to create something like a trading system controled by the player. so player will be able to hire npcs who works for him, earn money, craft items, etc.like a small city (i know how to do this already, at least i think that i know how it works in theory ;)). what i like to know is how do i create a "dynamic" cell? example:at first the players house is a small wooden barrack. after some major investments this "house" gets bigger, receives upgrades, a forge, etc.that this kind of stuff must be possible to do somehow is obvious because the game already does this when you buy a house and upgrade it or for example when you siege a town... but i have no clue how/where to look/start at. So each hint would be apreciated! PS: sorry for my english, i am no native speaker.
Crimsonfoxy
I haven't used the Skyrim creation kit huge amounts yet but it's extremely similar to GECK so things should be similar if not the same. 1. Open your container properties and uncheck the respawns flag. Check containers you know are safe already in game for an example. 2. Not sure on this one but I imagine it is done by script when you are given the house by the NPC who sells t to you. So check the quests and scripts related. Now there are a couple of ways of making a "dynamic" cell. The first is to disable/enable objects through script when you need to (eg. When you buy an upgrade) or if it's a huge change then you may be better of making 2 cells, 1 with all the changes, one without, and changing which cell the entrance takes you too through script. This becomes not so useful if you need to make many separate separate changes. Hope that helps. =)
