Skyrim Hardcoree Survivalism

as much as I hate WoW, that's probably not a bad idea... but, not sure if it would really fit in with Skyrim's gameplay.

I don't like WoW that much either. Maybe I've played it too much.. :>

But I think it would make sense if every strike didn't hit the same percent.

Btw, I really like the idea of this mod, probably because I like to roleplay :) You have my support!

yea, I still think it would be better that your character swings slower and deals less damage, but the better you get with that type of sword the faster you swing it and the more damage you deal. How about, at first, you swing slowly, and only deal about 10-15 points of damage. Then, next you swing a bit faster and you deal 13-18 points. then 15-20 points. So on and so forth until, say, you swing at max speed and deal 30-40 points of damage.

instead of setting a weight limit, although this would take much more work, but what you could do is make your inventory a grid, and certain items take up a certain amount of space, itd be cooll if the "hardcore survivalist mode" made you do things like eat and sleep, if you , got cold or hot?? bc ive accidently walked around skyrim with nothing but boxers, and youd think id get a little frostbite, but no xD

I like the idea of being too hot or cold. But, considering we're in Skyrim, I couldn't imagine where you would get too hot. But yea, maybe if you're wearing loose clothing or nothing at all, and you're in a snowy area, your screen can slowly start to cover in this ice around the borders of you screen, and your health will slowly begin to drain, unless you put on at least light armor.

As for the food and sleep, I like that too, pretty much the same as Fallout New Vegas's hardcore mode. But, I kinda want it to be almost a constant lookout. About a week in game is when you start to starve, your damage resistance is reduced. Same with sleeping, after a week, your stamina is dropped in half, and drains twice as fast.

Hey guys, for some reason, it won't let me update the original post, it just says "loading" at the top when I click on "save changes", then the loading goes away, and I'm still in editing mode. I have also tried using the "Full Editor" mode, and when I save changes then, it just sends me to a "database error" page. Sorry, but please read all other posts before suggesting an idea or correcting me on something, as it might have already been discussed. Edited by Kry11ic

I also had ideas for a survivalism mod - but with more respect to the combat factor.

Take a look

Here's also a new idea to solve the Carry Weight Dilemma:

Depending on the amount of stuff you carry there is a passive negative stamina regeneration, while running (like the stamina used up while sprinting).

This means you can always walk (>),

only run (>>) if you have stamina to be used up by the negative stamina regeneration and

only sprint(>>>) when you have a lot of stamina to spend (vanilla).

This would mean there is no need for a maximum value of stuff you can carry, as nobody will just walk 2 realtime hours to get some stupid stuff to their house.

With respect to my combat enhancement idea, this would also make combat really hard for you, when carrying too much, as attacks cost stamina as well.

I would really like to see this happen!

so, let me see if I understand this correctly:

Depending on how much stuff you are carrying depends on how much stamina you use up while either sprinting or attacking?

Basically yes, but not only when sprinting or attacking. But also when running (the standard movement in skyrim, which is disabled as soon as you are overencumbered). And you could connect this to jumping or any other actions as well.

Just to make myself more clear: Walking < Running < Sprinting - these are the three different movement speeds in vanilla skyrim.

hm... it could very well work. Don't get me wrong, it's a great idea, but I'm not sure if it'll really prevent them from attempting to carry around 10 swords with them
