Skyrim Hardcoree Survivalism

Survivalism to me means living off nature, so to me things like this:

1) Cannot buy/sell goods in towns - have to use the Khajiit Caravan or any travelling merchant to do that

2) Cannot use crafting stations in towns, you have to use the ones you find in your travels - i.e. the forge at Silent Moon Camp is fine, running up to Faregar's Enchanting Table is not.

3) Cannot buy property in towns (i.e. no permanent storage), though you'd need a way for the player to build a house in the wilderness to get permanent storage. Till that time if they want storage they have to take their chances with temporary storage places in the wild.

4) No NPC followers who can carry items (i.e. permanent storage), though animal NPC followers and conjured would be fine.

5) No living at a spouses house (again, no permanent storage) - see #3 and have her move in your built house instead

Things of that nature entail survivalism, and I'd argue that Dragonborn shouts should be fine, they are a force of nature no different than any other magic.

Love it!!! I'll add this to the original post.

As for the house, how about to buy a house, it would be in a small town such as Riverwood, and it would be pretty expensive (say, anywhere between 5000-10000 gold), and there would be one container and one bed... maybe it'll be possible to have the container only hold a certain amount of items?

As for the dragon shouts, like I said in the post, it's something that you can always rely on and they're pretty powerful, and in survival, you really can't constantly rely on one thing. But, maybe adding a side effect, maybe something like you can only use each shout once a day, or you have to go somewhere to restore your shouts, like going to High Hrothgar and have the Grey-beards restore them.

Makes sense on the Shouts - removing the ability to spam them all day.

As for the property, maybe a compromise is instead of buying Honeyside in Riften you can buy a property in the wilderness within The Rift (or other major hold) instead?

Pretty sure we could untie the requirement to purchase property as a condition of Thanehood in the major holds.

i really like this mod idea and for the people complaining about 50 lbs carry weight i think its good but seeing as wearing armor and carrying it will encumber you different there should only be a percentage of encumbrance if your wearing it like if it was only 50% of the weight while you wear it or something

Some adjustments would need to be made to the weights of current items though, I mean the Dragonstone (quest item) alone weighs 25.

That low of a number to me tells me that some other things would need weights adjusted, like alchemy reagents. 0.3 doesn't sound like much when you got 400+ carry capacity, when you only got 50 it's not easy to go farming for reagents.

Then again, the Steed Stone would make an astronomical difference here - essentially a 200% boost to carry capacity.

True... whoever mods this would need to go and make any quest items weigh either very little or nothing at all. I know the Elder Scroll weighs 20lbs alone, which is very annoying. but, you are able to get rid of it
