whatcat24
Hey everyone, I'm a long time user of mods who's looking to get started on actually creating a few. I've got some experience with programming, though I'm sure it'll take quite a bit of time to put anything concrete together. Ever since I installed the realistic lighting tweak awhile ago, I've been sort of dreaming up a mod that makes night time in Skyrim a little bit more hectic. Wars in Skyrim is already doing something similar, though my mod would really be specific to night time. Enemies would spawn within a certain radius of the player character at night. Things I'm thinking about adding: Patrolling bandit raids/bands of thieves with "boss" NPCs.Ghosts/BansheesPacks of WerewolvesVampires Each of these enemies would be scaled to the player level and offer more rewarding loot of killed. Would any of you guys be interested in a mod like this? I'm open to feedback.
Unit076
Hey mate :) I am very interested in that kind of mod. I actually have requested a mod which adds more Random Encounters/World Interactions. Skyrim actually have many random events scripted to greet us players while enjoying a walk from a city to another city; which generate not only creatures to fight, but actual random events. Something like "Farmer takes a cow to be sacrificed for giants," or "A skooma dealer who will offer to sell some skooma." How about adding probability to meet those random encounters? :) Or even, add new random encounters (which may occurs only at night). My idea would be... some thief sneaking around from a town to another town, carrying stolen goods. Or even we could have a thief who runs at lightspeed being chased by guards (like one of the Thief Guild's member story). Or perhaps a travelling merchant with caravan who is being raided by bandits. Or perhaps a horse chase between Imperial soldiers and their fugitives. I think adding more than enemies makes a more immersive gameplay. But I still support the ideas of enemies :D Actually the creator of Wars in Skyrim once had the idea of Falmers going out in Skyrim at night. They could be in patrol or trying to rob/to raid travellers/small villages. Perhaps you could make that one?

The idea of scripted events is awesome. The general idea would simply be make the sun setting a little unnerving for people traveling around. They'd probably want to find a cave/inn/city quickly to avoid biting off more than they could chew. Or, if they're really brave (or high leveled) they could venture out at night. Greater risk means greater reward. Thanks for the suggestions.
rajy
This sounds very fun id play it. I would also like it if some of the mobs that spawn were a little too high for your character at first so you might had to run away until you got powerful enough to fight them. I would also like it if some of the mobs that spawn were a little too high for your character at first so you might had to run away until you got powerful enough to fight them. The general idea would be that even a high-level character would think twice before going out at night. You'd likely have to stock up on healing/mana/stam pots, get out your best gear, yadda yadda yadda before heading out. The rewards, like I mentioned, would be very good, however. I'm thinking ingredients/enchantments otherwise unobtainable. That's a whole other issue, though. :P For now, I think I'll just stick to thinking about an immersion mod. cire992
Sounds freaky. Shouldn't be too difficult though. All of those things are in-game in one form or another, it's just a matter getting leveled creatures set up. Definitely will be keeping an eye on this, good luck! whatcat24
A few new ideas: Ghost Companies: Units of deceased Stormcloak and Imperial soldiers will wander around, attacking anyone living on sight.Falmer Raiders: Groups of Falmer will wander around. I might have a chance for a few civilians to spawn near them that the player could potentially rescue.Option to remove fast travel: The experience would be slightly cheapened if the player could simply fast travel to a town when the sun starts to set. Removing fast travel would force the player to high-tail it to the nearest cave/town/fort to try to find safety.Monsters spawn on wait: You can't wait out the nights, either. That just would be no fun.
