dubiousintent
Unfortunately, the game was designed for the 2010 console mass market. High end hardware 6-7 years later can't overcome original game design limitations. That's two different problems: Lag, and CTDs. First, fix the CTDs. To do that start with the 'Solutions to "Crash To Desktop" (CTD) problems' section in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide. If that is not sufficient, see the 'Checklist Item #4' entry in the same article to enable error logging and take a look in the log files for "error" entries. As for the lag: have you tried "defragging" your disk drive? (This is the most common cause of lag.) If that isn't enough, please see the 'Solutions to Performance problems' in the same "Troubleshooting" article. If all of that isn't enough, please follow the guidelines in the wiki "How to ask for help" article when you come back. You came pretty close, but we need to know if you installed Steam to it's default location (which is "bad"; and Valve now recognizes that by providing instructions on how to relocate it. Relevant links are in the article), and your version of Windows to get a complete picture. On a side note: with that many plugins, you need a "Bashed/Merged Patch" file. You should also consider a "merge plugin" for all those weapon mods to reduce the number of plugins. See the wiki "Merged Plugin Guidelines for Personal Use" article. -Dubious-
nexusguy
Ty friend, the strange part is the game does work most of the time, but it crashes constantly and when i enter the game again sometimes it's lagging heavily...it's weird actually, to play the game properly i have to restart it several times before it is out of stutters
dubiousintent
Take a look at what you have running in the background, such "anti-virus" (AV) software or "overlays" designed for multi-player games such as "Overwolf". Even the Steam overlay can cause issues. (See "Issue: How to disable the Steam Overlay" in the "Troubleshooting" article.) You don't need AV running if you are playing in "offline mode". Shut down everything that is not essential. Have you applied the "Sheson heap patch" and the game fixes under 'Issue: Vanilla game bugs' in the "Troubleshooting" article? CTDs while playing are usually due to either exhausting the default heap size or mod conflicts. We will need to see your information requested in the wiki "How to ask for help" article to help with conflicts. It is possible to play more than 4 hours without CTDs. It cannot be overstated that installing to the default "C:\Program Files" folder is a major cause of strange problems. If you haven't already, move it out of that folder tree. ("Checklist item 00".) -Dubious- Edited May 2, 2017 by dubiousintent
