whoden
After looking at sheen's Magelight Grotto I had an Idea for a player home. Start with a cavern much like the Eldergleam Sanctuary (not the first one I thought of, but the first one I found while searching for an example), a large open-to-the-sky cave with plants, trees, waterfalls, streams, pools, etc., with a Dwemer-style house. Obviously all the crafting stations, including a smelter, should be included. Plus enough mannequins and weapon plaques to display one of each type (or if you're feeling particularly ambitious, an armory like the one in commander_tak's Underwater Home for Fallout New Vegas). It doesn't have to be huge, just big enough; entrance hall, kitchen/dining area, sitting room, four bedrooms (Maybe five. I am kind of envisioning a master suite on an upper floor, possibly with a balcony.), an armory/display room and a crafting room. Also, I'd like part of the house to be open to the cavern, with windows and what-not. And actual beds, not the Dwemer stone ones. Everything else can be straight Dwemer, just not the beds. I MIGHT (heavy emphasis on might) try to do this myself. But unless the CK is MUCH more user-friendly than the GECK, I don't think I'll make much progress. If anybody is willing to accept this challenge, I will try to flesh out the idea with some floor plans, most likely using Sims 3 for them. Do you have any idea how long it would take to make a player-owned home in the context you described? Your looking at 3 hours of solid work just to recreate the grove area not to mention designing and implementing a structure and sorting out lighting and navmeshing. That sort of project is more suited for a team of mod devs not an individual.
whoden
I didn't ask how long it would take or how many people would need to work on it. If you aren't willing to try, why bother replying? Also, considering some of the things that have been made WITHOUT the Creation Kit, I really don't think you know what you're talking about. I'm really trying to keep my response civil and not condescending. But after looking through all your profiles on Nexus, with ZERO uploads, ZERO kudos and only NINE posts total when you've been a member roughly a year longer than I have... What makes you think you have ANY idea how hard modding is? The majority of my posts and kudos have come from helping people with debugging their mods, so I think I have a SLIGHTLY better idea of how hard modding is. I am actually looking for something very similar. My main 'want' is a display for one of every armor, weapon, and book in the game. Hell, it can even be a modded version of an existing house. I am just a collector. :]
