Male Rogish follower

Hi,

 

I have just played Skyrim for a few days (am level 14 now) and I am looking for a new follower/companion. Faendal is beginning to die too easily.

 

All I ask is that he is a "male thief type" and NOT one of the beast races (this includes orc).

 

So far, all of the thief types I have met have been female.

 

But I am a female player and thus I prefer to only travel with male companions.

 

Most importantly, I don't want a guy who can't sneak with me.

 

Also, if I were to have a marriage partner, this would be the one I'd pick.

 

I am not into the brutish big guys or even the knightly big guys. I want a small, sneaky guy.

 

Travel companion/follower is more important than a marriage partner however.

 

Mostly, I just want a follower that can do what I need him to do that is NOT a female or beast race.

 

So what I want to know is, where can I find this male, thief type follower?

For rogues non-beast males you have:

 

Athis - male dunmer from companions

 

Cicero - human (Imperial I think) from Dark Brotherhood

 

 

 

Try Erik the Slayer. He wears light armor and has decent sneak ability. He weilds a two handed sword though instead of a dagger or sword and is technically a barbarian/warrior and not a rogue.

I met Athis already, quite early in the game, which means his level will be fairly low also. He's really irritating and rubbed me the wrong way, anyway. I only met him once

and decided to avoid him since I felt a sudden spontaniuous dislike towards him.

 

Cicero sounds cool but this character I play just isn't that dark. She wouldn't join such an organization. My next character will so I will keep Cicero in mind.

The best thing I read about him is that he talks a lot. Because of this reason alone, he's a definate must for at least one of my characters.

Besides, I want the follower to be primarily range since I am a sneak attacker. Sounds like Cicero will want my job.

 

Thus, I guess I will have to try Erik the Slayer then. I sure hope he is quiet and is willing to use a bow before rushing in.

I will wait till I am a higher level before I go pick him up.

 

Otherwise it doesn't seem like there is much available for what I want.

 

The female followers seem so much better than the males thus far but I really want a male companion. Maybe I will look into mage followers as well.

Jzargo is the best follower since he levels with the PC up to 81, the others caps somewhere between 50 to 70 depending on who your follower is. The thing however is that Jzargo is a Khajiit mage. Marcurio from the Riften inn is supposed to be very good, as well as Illia from Darktower and the Dunmer woman from Azura's Shrine, Aranea I think her name was.

 

The best sneak follower for an archer I hear is supposed to be Janessa since she's an archer with great sneak and sword abilities. Cicero however has the best sneak level (100) and is quite good at close range. I find Cicero's talking quite annoying later on because well, he's a crazy loon.

 

For warriors, I actually do prefer Erik because he's better rounded than others. For heavy armor warriors, I haven't seen which one seems best but the housecarls do fine in this regard.
