Exporting

I have created a custom weapon in blender but when i tried to export it i've got an error meassage that said that needed to apply scale and rotation to the capsule by pressing ctrl + a. When i did so my collision capsule turned in to a ring around my sword and when i tried to export again it said that i needed to make a a UV map for every texture and when i view my mesh in NIFskope there is nothing there. I have exported several meshes without making an UV map and it have worked fine. What can cuase this?
