immortalfrieza
I just got the FNV Ultimate Edition the other day, and New Vegas' graphics haven't aged well, so I'm looking for a graphics overhaul mod that will put New Vegas up to today's standards or at least as close as possible to it. I'm not too picky, I don't expect to find a mod that gives New Vegas Skyrim level graphics (that would be nice though) By best, I mean a Graphics mod that is both effective, doesn't change gameplay in any way, and is highly compatible with both the base game and all DLC. I'm also putting in these mods as well and I'm hoping they're compatible:Project Nevada (core and cyberware only)Perk every levelBaby Deathclaw CommanderKillable Children So, Any suggestions? MyGoodEye
Heya! So, yeah... All of the below allow dramatic visual alterations at typically minor performance cost (if any)... COMBINED (with DIRECTOR'S CHAIR) and they're very powerful: The IMAGINATOR will give you a variety of options to change in-game colors, tints, brightness, contrast, saturation, styles, blurs, motion-blurs, etc, etc:http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=39619 DYNAVISION 2 : Gives you in-game user-adjustable dynamic depth-of-field which does make the "look" of the game a tad more modern:http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=40077 CINEMATECH : Add some grit/grains to the game for a more "filmic" quality, if you like that kinda thinghttp://newvegas.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=39947 Ultimately, if you want to be able to modify all of these through the MCM interface (which I recommend), you need DIRECTORS CHAIR:http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=43002 If you have a decent computer, with all these enabled in one form or other you'll see a very minor - if any - performance loss. Also, recommended would be FALLOUT NEW VEGAS ENHANCED SHADERS LITE:http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=34868 There are a good number of texture replacers on the NEXUS as well, which will enhance the "aged" look of the game:OJO or POCO BUENO (I think these are pound for pound the best of them)NMCHectroletc... And, VURT'S FLORA AND FAUNA does good business with updating the plant-life. Enjoy! - David EDIT: Damn, forgot to mention weather-mods. Depending on your taste, NEVADA SKIES (which has a few variations available) and PROJECT REALITY MKI are both fantastic for improving the weather. Add all those up and you'll have a totally different "look" and experience from "vanilla". EDIT 2A : Damn, I also forgot to mention NEW VEGAS CONFIGATOR (yes, it is spelled that way). You can use it to alter your INI files which can net you vastly better performance. EDIT 2B : Also, GOPHER has posted a number of video tutorials which touch on subjects such as : graphics overalling and performance. EDIT 2C : I'm sure there's more, but I'll leave you to it for now. I tried the imaginator, dynavision, and Cinematech, and those didn't really do anything to improve the graphics, though project reality works well. I suppose I should clarify that I wanted the graphics of new vegas to improve, to get them to better match up with today's standards. I'm going to try some of the texture packs you mentioned now. Gribbleshnibit8
Well the graphics engine is kind of old, so you can't expect anything amazing from it. I like NMCs for a comprehensive texture upgrade, plus several of the Poco Bueno textures for a somewhat different look to things. On top of that I like to put a custom mix of different texture mods from both FO3 and FNV (don't forget that you can use most texture mods from FO3 too). Would also just like to point out that Perk Every Level is redundant, since Project Nevada provides an option to get perks every level.

I'm actually having a problem downloading NMC in any size, it won't let me select a download server that isn't a premium one for downloading it. (I'm a normal member so I can't actually download it apparently.) Edited February 12, 2012 by immortalfrieza
Jeoshua
Okay so you didn't like the Director's Chair Suite because it "didn't improve the graphics"? I'm assuming that's because you just turned it on and expected to see a change automatically, yes? They're interactive and allow you to change lighting and camera settings to your liking. You're looking for something that's "Fire And Forget" Get Ojo Bueno texture pack and you should be pleased with how little work you have to do past downloading and installing it. But if you have problems with lighting or camera stuff (this is too dark, that's too bright, etc). Get Director's chair and learn how to use it. This close to screaming before I realized you're just not a techie and wanted texture replacers  === Also, what brand of video card do you have? NVidia paradoxically does better with the resolution pulled down a bit an on 4x Multisampling Anti Aliasing. At least, my card does. I gained 10 frames per second and "virtually" increased the fidelity of the image by dropping down into 1024x768 and turning on 4xAA and 8xAF versus 1280x1024 No AA and 4xAF Edited February 12, 2012 by Jeoshua

My video card is a ATI radion 5700 series.
