I would like to put more light emitting items in my houses due to them becoming rediculously dark with the realistic lighting mod. I love the mod but some parts of my house are simply too dark. Does anyone know how to add these items like candles, lanterns etc via console?

Your help is greatly appreciated

You're much better off finding a "better lighting" mod for your chosen home(s), if at all possible.

The problem with spawning light emitters via console is that you have no precise control over them and it's very possible that any light you spawn may conflict with existing light sources. This results in annoying flashes, lights that aren't visible from a distance but seem to turn on when you're within a few feet/inches from them, odd shadow moire or "striping" related to default shadow bias settings and other visual anomalies.

But if you really want to try it, consult this page for the FormIDs for light sources and pick one you want to spawn. I suggest avoiding any light source that requires precise placement (i.e. spotlights etc) and use emitters designed for area or ambient lighting.

Emitters are naturally invisible so you can't position area lights by clicking on them to get their unique in-world ID and using the "SetPos" commands on them.

The only alternative that I'm aware of is to move to the location where you want the new lighting by turning off collision ("TCL" command). Make sure you're away from the ground/floor or other objects to prevent spawning the emitter underground or inside another object, then use the "player.placeatme" console command to spawn the emitter.

TLDR; Use an improved lighting mod or add the lights yourself using the Creation Kit instead for superior results.
