tehgonk
A mod where when you train, you're not just paying for an instant level up in that particular skill, you'll be given some kind of task to compete to get that level up. An example would be: if you're training archery, the trainer will be near some targets that are special in the sense that, once you've paid for the training, you'll have to shoot the targets to get your skill up. The trainer could also maybe demonstrate what you have to do and you have to copy what they did in order to complete the training. I have no clue how hard this would be to do but, if it is possible, the trainer could have like a few different set patterns that they will perform randomly so that it's not always the same thing. This would probably be easier then having the NPC performs completely random patterns which might actually be impossible anyway lol. as you can see, I've only really thought about archery for now mainly because I think this is already in the game to a certain extent; my friend told me about some place on a mountain where if you shoot the targets it gets you archery level up (not sure if that's true btw). so yeah, this is a very basic concept but, if anyone is interested, maybe people can add their ideas here and we can get a much better idea of what it would take to make a mod like this. Thanks for readingGonk P.S. If this exists already please link me cause I'm really interested in a mod that does this kind of thing.
iamthefritch
it sounds like how the master training for oblivion was where you had to find the master trainer and complete a task for them to get the opportunity to have them train you its like that system but adds a lot more to the idea
tehgonk
it sounds like how the master training for oblivion was where you had to find the master trainer and complete a task for them to get the opportunity to have them train you its like that system but adds a lot more to the idea thanks for reminding me about that, I completely forgot lol :PAlso, now that you reminded me, it could be that only the master trainers give you something cool like this...Cause that might make a little less work for the modder while still adding this (imo) fun and more realistic way of training. tehgonk
Yeah but unfortunately, until I get a lot better using the Creation Kit I doubt I'll be able to any of this lol.So if there are any modders out there that think they can do this, please let me know cause I'd love to help in any way I can! Cowoner
The story about the mountain thing is true. Somewhere up in the mountains near falkreath you can find a shack with targets infront of it. Inside the shack there is a woman called Angi. She is able to train you in archery in exactly the manner you described. She gives you tasks and training gear and after completion of each task you get one level up in your archery skill. So, in case anybody wants to do it: I think this would be a good point to start.I would greatly appreciate if this mod would get its chance :)
tehgonk
Cool, thanks for clearing that up Cowoner! And yeah, I was also thinking that if that place is real (which it is), someone could use that as a base for the rest of the mod (or at least some of it).
