ENB freezing launcher

Recommended Posts

Hello, I am having a lot of trouble trying to get enb shaders to work. i have followed every installation instruction to the word, however as soon as i go to launch the game, i see the launcher but it is completely frozen, it doesnt even crash, it just freezes causing me to have to shut it down on task manager. i can get the game to work with just the enb mod installed, but as soon as i install an enb preset, this occurs. I would appreciate any help anyone could give, as i have tried everything to fix this.

Many thanks

Edit: i seem to have tracked the problem to any enb presets that use sweetfx, does anyone know why sweetfx could be causing this?

Well, I initially pointed you to that section because there are a lot of things you have to "get right" with both "post-processors". It's always best to deal with them one at a time and ensure they work correctly separately before trying to combine them. But if you believe everything else is fine, all I can suggest is that you reconsider "Cause-5: Can't SweetFX be used with ENB?" again. Your problem would appear to be the potential conflict with the two versions of the provided D3D9.DLL file by each tool, as that is the one point they have in common. In particular, check the version number of each DLL. (You didn't mention which version of Windows you are using, but see "Cause-1" of "Issue: Vanilla game Hangs on startup".) You need to use the ProxyLibrary function of ENB to get both DLL versions to load simultaneously.

As for your SweetFX location, see "Cause-1" in the "Issue: SweetFX not working" entry. It goes in the game root folder "< steam install path >\common\Fallout New Vegas". Install manually.
