AzrielNightBringer
Greetings, I am very new to modding, specifically modding Skyrim. I have pretty much finished the game with a few sidequests Im still workin on. In my searches for help through the various questlines I have discovered the modding community and all it has to offer. Perhaps I am trying to bite off more than I can chew, but I have to try. I was researching a way to make the armor and weapons I have chosen for a follower 'default' items. I came across this Skyrim NPC Editor And I was having some difficulty getting anything out of it. So upon furhter study I fould the Nexus Mod Manager, and was very happy finding something to make some since of all this. I installed the NMM on my PC as well as the NPC editor and was trying to get the followers cloths to default to nothing so I could give her back her armor and she wouldnt change into something different everytime I didnt need her and she returned to Solitude, she is my housecarl there. Both programs installed fine, and seem to be working, I just cant get the changes I made with the editor to work in the game. The NMM set its directories by default, and the NPC editor is asking where do I save the files its created to. I have two files upon creation; 'meshes' and 'HousecarlSolitude.esp' . To my understanding of the NMM program it should place these files in the proper place, and to my knowledge either it is not, or I am still as lost as I was before starting this. Any help in explaining this process to me would be appreciated, or advice on an easier ways to do what I'm trying to do. Thanks...
berticus0001
open the ck and load skyrim.esm. when loaded type "housecarl" into the objects filter box and select all, scroll down until you find the housecarl you want to edit, in your case "housecarlsolitude", right-click and edit, when the edit window pops up go to <inventory> tab and change "default outfit" to none, now in-game you can take the default steel armor off of her and she will automatically wear what you give her all the time!hope this helps!berticus0001
