Software problem with my XP

Okay, my computer was making this weird noice from the fan (I assume my fan couldn't force enough air into my computer, so I cleaned it out yesterday with care) and now XP can't start because there is a corrupt system file. I think it's windows/system/config/32 or something. What can I do to fix it? Oh and it's from the old computer not the new one that I'm using now.

The first thing to do is a "system restore" to an earlier time.

 

If that doesn't work, try your windows repair disk
